        From here; https://www.dharmatrading.com/techniques/pfd-and-rfd.html?lnav=techniques.html

        Natural cotton, after weaving and washing, is an off-white color like a light shade of ecru or cream. Normally, if the fabric is to be dyed, it goes straight to the dyer at that point. If it is to be sold as bleached fabric or made into "white" clothing, it is first bleached, washed, then often treated with optic whiteners and washed again. Optic whiteners are kind of like a white dye. While technically there is no such thing as a "white" dye, the optic whiteners occupy on a molecular level, the same spaces as dyes do. Therefore, natural, unbleached fabrics are said to take dyes better than "white" or optically whitened fabric

        So the ecru denim jacket will take die better than white denim jacket - SORTED  🙂

            That's assuming the ecru jacket is actually natural and not dyed light brown.  Otherwise, it's not functionally very different than the white jacket.  Either way, pre-washing either one with washing soda or soda ash is good for removing any residual sizing or other chemicals and allowing the dye to really bond to the fabric.

              Thanks for that @Chris. I will follow your suggestion with washing soda / soda ash pre wash before attempting the dying process.

                Can anyone help with this issue?

                My BR & WG MA-1 has just decided to have a melt down. I took the jacket off my clothing rail and pulled on the pull tab to lower the slider in order to undo the jacket and remove it from the coat hanger before popping it onto my good self and the pull tab came away from the slider, see below;

                I have inspected the parts and put them back together however the integrity of the unit has gone so the pull tab immediately comes away from the slider.

                Can anyone advise me on where / who my first point of contact should be when trying to get this issue resolved ?

                I will cross post this in Random questions to which you seek an answer. Thanks in advance, Barcley  😞

                  Panic over, for now at least. I found the missing brass press fit washer that I pressed back into place. However, I don't trust the (square) brass washer in question. I am also a little disappointed at how flimsy the zipper set up is . . . . . Sure IH zippers are more solid than this particulat crown zipper . . .

                    I think I would be on the look out for another slider, a talon of same size/colour.
                    Other than that next time your in the high street, drop into the local jewelers and see what he thinks about brazing the brass retainer in place, should be a simple and permanent job.

                          Does anyone know where I can get a Vibram 2060 sole in the Uk. I've tried the vibram academy in London but they weren't very helpful and said its a USA sole?

                          Or would a US member be willing to get me a set and post them to me?

                          Seeing Adam's @Appfaff Redwings with this sole, got me on the hunt.

                            @bryaneidins70 - my cobbler stocks the 2021 and I could probably get you a set. I’ve never seen them have the 2060 though.

I'm in nyc if you're recommending a physical store but I'm happy to do online as long as there's a good exchange policy.

                                      I have a Hickey Freeman suit that I got from Nordstrom Rack. You're in nyc so should have no problem finding decent suits or stores that sell them. What's your budget?

                                          The model number for the planned olive whipcord type III is IH-526-ODG. Whether this pic is it or not I don’t know. Seems likely. Kentaurus is a European bricks and mortar outfit that stocks a lot of IH. Makes sense that they’d get to sample the sample.
