IH-6526J Extra Heavy Corduroy Type III Jacket
-
@goosehd Honestly mate, that may be a bit tricky at this time.
These have been out of production for quite awhile, and I don't see too many of them floating around which leads me to believe not many forum members have time. I do see one here and there, but they are definitely few and far between. My wife has a small in this particular model and it fits her pretty well, but that is based on her measurements and compared to the measurements for the 6526J here.
As far as the new one that may be released, there are no posted measurements, making it difficult to gauge what size will work for who. You can try to start getting an idea of what size she might by looking at the measurements for the the 6526J, but keep in mind newer model will be IHs "modified type III" which will likely have a longer body length. Furthermore, there are likely to be size variances due to this jacket being a new run, which is fairly typical given these are made by humans.
At this point, the best bet would be to measure a similar jacket she has that fits her well and wait till the measurements for the new jacket get posted, which will likely be next year sometime. You can then compare her measurements with the new ones. If she seems to be in-between sizes, buy both. Keep the one that fits her best and return the other. That's what I've found works best.

@Dstauffer Many thanks for an excellent response to a difficult question!

Firstly, completely ignore any measurements re: the IH-6526J. We screwed up the sizing and anyway the new version will be modified, so longer and with pockets. As @Madame Buttonfly will testify (and she would have killed almost anything to get her hands on a khaki IH-6526J), if your wife has any sort of significant superstructure, a Type III probably won't work if she wants to button it up…

My wife seconds this sentiment…I am a lucky man
May be worth a try though just to have her see if it fits...my wife doesn’t wear it buttoned and likes it just fine.

She’s 5’3” and blessed :). I don’t want to tell her that it probably won’t work.
She’s been looking for a khaki cord jacket for at least the time we’ve been together (25 years).
Any chance this may be a future item cut for “significant superstructure’s“?
Maybe PM @Madame Buttonfly and discuss relative blessings….

It's 5:17am and I read this as
"May be worth a try though just to see her tits…"

OMG, you boys can turn a discussion about a corduroy jacket into soft porn! ::)
