The family and I have been sick for the last few days, so I’m sorry but not really any updates… but I have managed to snag a few pics over the last few days of things happening here and there.

First off was fixing the tear in the LC steering wheel - I’ll be getting a new kit eventually, but went with a $40 Fix for the meantime:

      Before:

      Main damage

      After:

I didn’t fill in the wedge, mainly because I didn’t want to add any more “fuck ups” to the plan lol - I may redo it and cut the original leather off with just enough of the spoke leather intact to look presentable, but I’m going to drive around and let this leather stretch first

Kids were feeling better yesterday while Mom was crazy sick we we watched cartoons while I cleaned the house from 3 days of havoc

Another Land Cruiser project is the cigarettes burns out of the carpet - I swear the dude before me was the Marlboro man, so I’ve been cleaning he carpets and headliners and it’s not really smelling like a smoked in truck anymore, but there are some burns on the carpet, figured I’ll be getting new floor mats soon anyways, so I tried a trick I saw on you tube on one set.

      The burn:

You scrape the razor along the carpet to get some clean “fibers” and then you super glue them into the hole… kinda ghetto but it actually kinda worked lol

Today everyone is feeling better so it’s back to normal I think lol

      Cheers

      Adam

          Thanks so much Saber!!

          10/22/2017

Yesterday was pretty much back to normal, so figured I’d get a whole day in:

Drive to mobile to do some work at my favorite coffee shop:

Went to go get an oil change in the Cruiser (Free WiFi at auto shops is something I’ll never get used to haha)

Went and got my favorite lunch - rare steak and Vietnamese meatball pho

Fun Fact : just outside of Mobile is Bayou La Batre - it is a small fishing town and a TON of Vietnamese families move here for the industry. Because of this, we have a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in town. This one is more traditional so it brings a nice mix of working class and professional families together - most after church

Oh yeah… Mobile and Seattle go back and forth every year for the rainiest city award... it was so bad yesterday that I couldn’t go to the Spring Hill College library, but had to drive home

Cool old (not super old) Range Rover

Then I started out the rainy window for 4 more hours!!

Hope everyone had a Great weekend!

Ok guys, sorry for the lack of updates over the last week - we are in major crunch time for our annual Travel
            Magazine and my family
Getting sick didn’t help me get ahead of schedule…

But alas, here’s what’s been happening in my hood for the last few days!

We got 5 live oaks planes along our front yard. Hopefully it makes our house look less like “pleasantville” and a little more “mature” as they grow

My clients new truck - this one is pretty cool - Eco Diesel Limited 1500 - it’s super nice

Came home and had dinner and some whiskey

The next day i has an early morning at the gym - some of my athletes hitting the workout

Had some taco soup and cheap beer [emoji12]

Had an Italian hoagie - it was good

The twins eating snacks at the gym this afternoon

BONUS: was up late building a website for a personal trainer kicking off her business a few miles down the road from me. I’m no graphic designer, but I (and she) was pleased with how her logo turned out.

            Thanks for hanging!

                      Cheers gents -

@Seul - the whiskey is quite good - ridiculously good if you enjoy American Blended - ROGUE takes the barrels they use for their famous Dead Guy Ale and wash the whiskey through them for a bit to give is a somewhat sweet, almost malty aroma. It’s easy to drink and surprisingly complex.

@Neph - my wife got me the glass for holiday last year - it’s essentially a glass with a tiny plunger you pop in after you fill up the cup with water - is slower to melt than ice spheres, which are my usual whiskey accompaniment.

On Friday, I had a photo shoot for some marketing materials down at the beach:

It was a long day, so I came home and had some wine and charcuterie

Yesterday was our Annual Breast Cancer fundraiser at my gym - I went great!

This morning we took the kids to the local bakery for breakfast

Make chicken korma and butter chicken for my lunches for last week:

Spent an hour or so cleaning the garage - at least we can maybe fit a car in here now haha

Halloween was fun because the kids could walk around this year:

ok guys, today is my last day wearing the WT Jeans, they will be washed and them packing in the Yota to bring to @Broark this weekend for the Austin meet up. I have some updates, and will use this thread to document my 8 hour road trip on Thursday, but I wanted to touch base about a few things I have found to be true about the 888 cut since wearing them for 6 weeks. Now, mind you, they were small on me, and it took until this weekend for them to really loosen up a good deal - plus, I know the fit has been tweaked, but here is what I have learned.

                                            1. The 21 oz denim gets seriously better after about 20 wears. I have had the 21 oz in a bunch of different cuts, and the I feel the same can always be said. When the denim is brand new and ultra-uniform, it has a tendency to feel a bit "boring" for those of use who regularly wear unsanforized options. However, after about 20 wears, the creases begin to set in, the electric blue begins to pop through and it is simply a glorious denim.

On the same note, the 21oz denim really is probably the more "easy to care for" japanese denim around. I've had most brands, and the 21 oz is simply an easy to use, easy to clean, easy to wear fabric, and deserves the popularity is has globally.

                                            2. The 888 cut is the "jack of all trades" in terms of cuts.  For me, the size 36 was about 1/2 a size smaller than what I would have sized for myself, BUT, that gave me the opportunity to try it as a slim fit, and at which it performed exceptionally. The top block is fitted. Like really fitted, but in a nice way. The addition of the 4th fly button is a really nice addition and even when they were nearly new and ultra snug, I had very little if any pull at the fly - something that continuously bothers me on my 3 button fly 634 variations.

The thighs are not "roomy," but they are not tight either. The taper is "just enough" for those who want a tailored look without getting the snug calves syndrome. I really like the taper, but I do wish they were about .25" smaller at the hem so they would stack with sneakers. I found I had to cuff them (obviously these are unhemmed) more than I wanted to to wear with chucks and vans.

What does this mean? If you can afford to size down with the thigh, you will get a remarkable slim fit in a beautifully tailored cut. If you size TTS, you will have a genuinely comfortable jean that looks sharp and has some mobility. Should you size up? I for damn sure would love to have a pair sized up. I think a slightly loose version of these would look great, and offer a nearly perfect 1966 repro type fit with a bit higher rise than is traditional on japanese jeans.

Anyways, thanks again @Megatron1505 for letting me kick off the tour. I will post some pictures thursday before I hit the road and after the WTJ have dried after their wash.
