Mine are getting the 1.5hrs purely because I have a dog and a kid which both need washing tonight!

Is it necessary to wash in the machine or soak can suffice the requirement ?
Washing in the machine creates agitation that maximises shrinkage. My pair of UHR is from an older batch and two very hot soaks helped soften the material and let the stitching bed in but didn't give any shrinkage. A 40C wash with 600 spin did the job though. Worst case scenario, If you soak, then wear without a wash they may well shrink further down the line when you eventually do wash them. That can cause them to look a bit weird if your honeycombs are well developed they end up an inch or two higher than they should be.

In my book, if you can still breath when you put them on then you're going to be fine. They'll stretch.
-
They certainly do stretch, mine were uncomfortable after washing but now they are perfect
-
Mine are out of the washing machine. Cold wash with 700 spin. No funny lines or anything so that's good. I expect more shrinkage when I do the first hot wash. Which won't be too long as they will be worn for work.

Definitely could've made a mistake there, either in measurement or recording. I only realized the disparity with the table as given after they went in the drink!

Just picked mine up. On a hide a distract mission from the Missus… will likely soak next week. If I do a cold soak will there be much shrinkage? Jeans I mean not me!
-
Some, but nowhere near full shrinkage unless you agitate the jeans whilst they soak. Even then you really need hot water and agitation for full shrinkage.
-
So I gave my pair a ~5 hour soak (hottest tap water, no agitation) + a gentle 40° C wash and the most noticeable shrinkage occured (as expected) in length: they lost ~ 1,6 in. The waist shrunk ~0,5 inches, I made sure I can put them back on and wore them while they were still damp. The waist stretched back pretty quickly and I managed to add another ~0,5 in so they fit now very well. Every other dimension stayed the same. Future soaks/washes will add more shrinkage in length but for now I am pretty happy. Thanks Megatron & G for this nice cut!
