    Thanks all.
Removed the insole and starting the break-in process.  The usual pinch point for me, is right at the quad stitching point on the side of the boot, but its already lossened up a bit.  I'm loving the shape of the MP toe and the boot in general.

              Hey guys,

resurrecting the thread to ask for photos of boots in Wesco's navy leather, if anyone happens to own a pair; googling turns out a few pictures of some Japanese Boss configs in navy rough-out, but I'd be very interested in how the smooth navy looks in lace-up styles. As I understand it, this leather is officially discontinued, but ordering through Baker's it's still available… Could be cool, although could be a bit too matchy-matchy as well if* worn with indigo denim.

              Cheers!

*By saying "if" I obviously mean "when", and that would be "365 days a year".

Bakers don't stock leather….So unless they have access to a hidden stash at Wesco, then you'll be out of luck.  I would double check with Bakers to make sure that leather is still really available to them.....

                  @neph93:

Got to pick up my second pair of custom Boss at Kanreki.

I did not bother asking @neph93 if he minded (just in case the answer was no), but we love his build so much, we are going to release this boot, but in burlap rough-out and brass hardware:

I would never have said no. Demanded a few points on the package, or free boots for life, yes. But I’d never have said no [emoji23]

Seriously though, they are are beautiful to behold and a great choice for a Bootery edition. My other boots haven’t had a look in for a month.

They really are fabulous looking boots.  Even more so in real life than in pictures.

Hideous or awesome? I'm planning something similar but with Vibram #430.

I think they might start out hideous, but after years of wearing them they’d be awesome.

I'm of the opinion that the rough navy looks infinitely better than the smooth. That said, build them how you like, be different, wear the hell out of them

The rough-out navy seems to be one of those leathers that looks different in every photo; sometimes it tends towards overly bright blue, but I gotta admit, this pair looks better (soles not-withstanding) than the one above:

To add, the smooth navy inside her boot isn't that dark either

Wescos current shade of navy is much different to the one a few years back.

The older was much darker and much nicer in my opinion.

Thanks for this, helpful! This is yet another look of this enigmatic leather; this shade makes it seem like it would combine nicely with honey lug soles for some heavy-duty shit-kickers. Hmmm…

Would you say the 2 pics I posted above are representative of the earlier version, while the Boss boots posted by jdl1279 reflect this leather’s current incarnation?
