They really are fabulous looking boots.  Even more so in real life than in pictures.

I'm of the opinion that the rough navy looks infinitely better than the smooth. That said, build them how you like, be different, wear the hell out of them

The rough-out navy seems to be one of those leathers that looks different in every photo; sometimes it tends towards overly bright blue, but I gotta admit, this pair looks better (soles not-withstanding) than the one above:

Wescos current shade of navy is much different to the one a few years back.

The older was much darker and much nicer in my opinion.

Thanks for this, helpful! This is yet another look of this enigmatic leather; this shade makes it seem like it would combine nicely with honey lug soles for some heavy-duty shit-kickers. Hmmm…

Would you say the 2 pics I posted above are representative of the earlier version, while the Boss boots posted by jdl1279 reflect this leather’s current incarnation?

I would say all three are the same (newer) navy just in different lighting.

The older navy was replaced in 2015 (I think). It was a super deep blue, almost black.

In 2011 Wesco collaborated with Neighborhood, producing a two-tone navy and black Jobmaster.

Gosh darn it, that’s exactly the sort of navy I have envisioned for my perfect configuration: almost like a ”cold” tone of black, that would reveal its inner, eh, naviness through persistent wear & associated tear.

Knowing this sort of option used to exist puts me off from settling for lesser navy. 😞

                                Thanks!

As a slight deviation to the old classic topic I'm sure everyone loves, what do we make of the size of this insole? Supposedly, it's straight out of a 8.5EE Jobmaster boot. The width would seem a bit narrower than "D" on Brannock, if the length was 8.5 that is, but then the overall length of 11" doesn't seem very 8.5ish either.

To me this looks more like a 10B than 8.5EE. Am I looking at it wrong?
