As you guys may know I am taking part in my first full marathon in York next Sunday;
The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon Sunday 8th October 2017
I am being realistic in my completion time aiming for 4 hours. Training has gone well over the last 6 months and this time I am running for myself (not for a charity)
Will update this thread post race.

Yesterday I took part in the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon with the race being held in York. This was my first full marathon so I was uncertain of what to expect. The longest training run I'd completed was 20 miles so I was particularly concerned about the last 6 miles. I had read that the crowd and other runners help you through the last 6 miles. I had set my self what I thought to be a sensible target time of 4 hours. I include a couple of pics from the event and my Garmin watch time;
Pre race trying to look calm however the nerves are just under the surface.
Crossing the finishing line feeling elated and hurting.
My official time was 4 hours 7 minutes and 1 second. Happy with that! However, since the race my body has been and is still hurting. Will I do another marathon? maybe when the memory of the pain and suffering of this one is totally forgotten. This challenge I set myself has to be one of the hardest

super job @den1mhead & @Black Orchid
so much inspiration for a simple guy like me

Congrats @den1mhead!!! Curious to know splits. Last 10k is always awful no matter how perfectly you pace yourself. From the looks of it you ran a pretty evenly split race.
-
good on ya @den1mhead & @Black Orchid !

Cheers fellas

Very nice. 3 minute positive split is really solid.
