Well, a full 180° from the awesome weekend in Gosport…
Currently, I've been waiting 5.5hrs for Maddy at the airport. She's stuck at immigration, and it seems as though they will deny her entry.
She went back to Japan to get some documents for her long stay visa, and so we can start her Green Card process, and now she can't get back in, because she "over stayed" her last visa...
When we went to Mallorca for our birthday vacation in April, the immigration officer told us in plain terms that Japanese get a visa on arrival that is good for 6 months after entry. Well, we are finding out today that is simply untrue. The incompetent bastard also stamped her in as a foreign student, for some strange reason, which is only making it all that much more difficult.
As of now it's not looking good, but we're still waiting for the final determination. What I fear most now is that There will be a penalty, and she will be ineligible for entry for an extended period of time. If that's the case, it's time to job hunt again in either the States or Japan.

That's happened to me once. I had left the US with an expired work visa (as the renewal was being processed by my employer at the time), and they refused re-entry. Normally they have a process by which the person signs a form saying they renounce requesting entry, which allows the US immigration to send the person back without marking them as having been refused entry. It's wacky but it's better than to be forever branded as such.

DAMN YOU TAPATALK!!!
that is all.

8.5hrs later, the verdict is that she can stay for the night, but she has to leave tomorrow.
They will annotate that she did indeed overstay, but at no fault of her own (The misinformation from the clown at Luton), so it shouldn't have any negative effect on the visa process when we apply.
Paying all off the expensive expedite fees, we could have her here in 1-2 months hopefully

Sorry to hear about this Anthony. I hate when I hear things like this that happen to good people. Good luck.

It's not ideal, but we've kinda got a handle on it.
I have a great friend in Okinawa that has a "Bed & Breakfast" that he will shut down to allow her to just live there for as long as she needs, and he also has a spare vehicle that she will be able to use at her leisure.
I've got a couple of avenues/options on how we will head off the visa issue, but either way it shouldn't take more than a couple months.
I'll be sure to keep everyone posted, and once again, thanks for all of the kind words.
