can't really comment on the differences in the power delivery between the two diesels engines as i don't/ have never driven diesels at all. you were driving the e90 3 series right or was it the f30? it's definitely a step up from the 3 although the newer f30 3s are not too shabby itself.
depending on the model of the 535, the engine either uses 1 or 2 turbochargers with different fuel rail pressure. whereas the 550 uses 3 in different sizes. you're in germany anyway, if you can, go with the more powerful model, you get to use it on the autobahn anwyay..

Headed down to Crystal Palace Park in London to see the annual London to Brighton Mini Run this weekend. Fantastic cars, people and weather for the day. Was gutted that I wasn't able to join the run as my classic mini is still in the workshop for a rebuild.
