I would say that this is my favorite UHF pattern IH has ever done. Period.  Beats the 87, 04, 20 Cookie Monster (all of which I have and love) and anything else I can think of.  Obviously just my opinion, but wow.  I hope you ordered loads, G.

On reflection, probably not.  I ordered between 35 and 45 of each of the UHF's (except the Buffalo's) so about 220 in total…..

Although I do remember when this pattern was first shown months ago and the response was so positive, you wrote that you were making a note to order more of this classic, G. I am too lazy to dig up your post. So maybe you ordered extra of this one? Hopefully it's not another bun fight…

Is there a sales metric you use to mitigate risk? I figured the IH retailers combined with customers filling out forms would give you a good idea as to how much should be produced. But then again, I can see how 9 UHF's at once would be kinda scary, especially if only a certain percentage got a response

Still, it seems that there are ways of telling that this will sell better than, say, another red and black buffalo.  I do know that ordering adequate quantities and not getting stuck with lots of back stock is part luck and I do not envy G the job of predicting demand.

I wasn't implying that it was supposed to be accurate but a tool that gives you a ballpark figure as to demand. If 50 people filled out forms for product A and only 10 people filled out forms for product B then it's clear which item has more interest. That's not counting lurkers who may be monitoring the new releases.

I imagine that out of 50 people filling out forms, maybe 10 will purchase. Even if only 40 shirts got made, that's 30 just sitting there. All ballpark figures, but you get the gist

                                          1. What retailers want is no indicator.  A few years ago I showed an item in Japan and every retailer who saw it fell in love.  I ordered shitloads because of the retailer enthusiasm.  I sold one before I had to put them on sale.

                                          2. With the UHF's I have to commit to numbers way before we see any completed forms (for this years UHF's I committed numbers to Haraki in February).  That's because we have to weave the fabric and that takes ages.

                                          3. In general, people can't imagine what the end product will look like from a fabric sample, so when I published fabric samples I got little interest.
