I'm going to be perverse and go for the standard Superblack. I love it's toughness and the way it ages without producing "fades".

[emoji23] I know right! Seriously though, that stuff is so hard and shiny when new, but give it a kicking and it gets really soft and beaten up.

Now that there are lightweight denims, how's about the hooded (Or, not hooded) denim "pop-over" that was mentioned many moons ago?

I'm just checking what black denims we have available….

I know we have the 21oz selvedge SBG and the 21oz non-selvedge superblack, but we may have something that I don't know about.

We are also sampling a new black sulphur dyed warp, natural weft 21oz selvedge denim.

What are peoples preferences if these are the 3 options?

For a 101J, I'd prefer the natural weft version - I'm just not a huge fan of superblack denims.

Any hope of an OD version? I like the matte look it creates, but understand it's expensive. Also, any hope of slightly slimming the arms? The indigo version's seemed loose, but maybe I'm between sizes.

They do need slimming down in my opinion.

Looks like they could be slimmed down a bit.  And how about modifying it and making the length a couple inches longer?

                                I think Giles might've sampled a 14oz type III…I'd bet a significant amount of $$ that a white one wouldn't sell.

Now that I've had time to think about it, you're probably right.

Couldn't figure where best to put this, just wanted to throw it out there. With the attention that the DWC has again been bringing to the beauty of faded denim, I was thinking about all the epic posts from many years ago and how the old stuff gets forgotten about or lost in the abundance. Posts like this, which are timeless:

I would love to see a gallery collection/contest of the most epic faded/worn IH items of all time. Such as the most epic faded pair of jeans of all time (similar to the "last man standing" DWC contest), or the least epically faded jeans with the most wear time etc., just so none of the old classics get lost and they can be easier to retrieve for reference. There has to be some really heavily worn IH items out there and I would love to see a compilation of images if we can get people to contribute. I believe people like bushmonkey or licorice noose must have some incredibly evolved IH items after all this time. I have a few old items as well. I was imagining a way that we could inspire more people to contribute pics of faded gear outside of a time-constrained contest. I wanted to compare the old classics to the new generations of fades. I know the gallery already does this in a way, but maybe we could add a category or two of specifically compiled images…
