I had occasion to visit a jeans "finishing" factory once.

It was a deeply depressing experience.  Perfectly good unwashed jeans come in through the "in door" and heaps of utter shite leave through the "out door"

This may not be a viable design idea but it occurs to me that a heavyweight denim vest based on the rider's jacket instead of a type III might well be a thing of beauty.

I feel kind of bad for mentioning this since a new 18oz version is being developed. It's been on my mind for a while though. A 21oz selvedge cpo like the 76 would be badass in my opinion, especially if it could be around the $400 range. I picked selvedge because it is so soft out of the bag.

That's ok. I'm positive the 18oz version is really good and I'll have my eye on it. I just had to get this idea off my chest.

An indigo houndstooth work shirt would be great.  There was that Triple Works one years ago, but I bought the wrong size and had to sell it.  I do like houndstooth.

In the three years I've been on this forum I reckon blanket lined jackets and shackets are the one thing that has been asked for here the most, not least by myself on a number of occasions. I know there have been blanket lined type III's done before my time, but the only blanket lined kit I remember seeing was the tanker jacket, which, erm, tanked (although I picked one up on special and love it). It makes me wonder  if and when a blanket lined jacket gets made how it will do..?

I think a leather type 3 made by Simmons Bilt would be a no brainer… They already have their own version, I know. But, I'm sure the IH think tank could make some improvements upon it.

I've recently been thinking of posting thoughts for a blanket lined Type II as well. Well, modified - slightly longer to match an untucked shirt, trimmer through waist so as to be not boxy, front hand warmer pockets (hey, You put pockets on shirts), chest pockets placed higher so they're actually on the chest instead of the ribs, and interior pockets with some sort of secure closure, either zippered or snapped flap. Interior pockets should be independent of hand warmer pockets, as with Type III's. With that type of pocket it's most often one or the other - inside pocket or outside. Something inside one makes the other useless. Real, dedicated, functional interior pockets for phone, wallet, etc. The exterior chest pockets on Type III's are generally too small to be useful for many things.

@mpukas If you google Wrangler 24MJZ Denim jacket and click on images, this might be something similar to what you're describing. Kind of like a Type II with the pleating, but pockets higher up,hand warmer pockets and had a zipper. Not blanket lined. I'd kill for one of those jackets, actually sent some pictures of one,I saw in a museum in Nashville, to Giles
