      Another big Sonos fan here.

Multiple zones, hundreds of CDs ripped to FLAC and stored on a NAS drive.

I do also own a fair bit of vinyl, some of which I have also encoded.

Living room has a unamplified zone player through a 20 year old Rotel amp and a pair of same age floor standing wharfdales. Bliss.

      Pride of Japan :-)

Just some Bose Companion II's I've had for about 5 years.  Simple yet very effective.  They have successfully gotten me multiple noise complaints at the few different places I have lived since owning them….  All the while playing very clear sound.

since I don't own/want a real stereo type of thing in the house, but always searched for a nice Bluetooth speaker to buy, I just impulse purchased this little bad boy right here:

          Bose Soundcloud Mini II

gonna try it out a couple of days but for now, I'm super happy with it 🙂

my brother in law recently bought one of them, he brought it round the other week and I fell in love with it. a beautiful piece of kit

This topic is right up my alley. Audiophiles:  Got a the old school M Audio BX8a running through a Scarlett 2i2 + Maschine/SansAmp/guitars/basses in case I want to jam a long.

I was given my grandpas hifi when he passed away. It think it would still stand up with today's stuff. It consists of what I think are 1970's Sony amp and tuner. There is also a Panasonic Reverberation Amp which makes some cool effects. It originally had a reel to reel with it too, but I have no room for it. Vinyl still sounds great on it and I hook up computer/phone to play digital files.

ok, just went through the local papers and saw that the store where I've just recently bought the Bose Sound Cloud Mini II also sells SONOS Play:1 and Playbar…the Play:1 is just 20bucks more than the Bose.

thinking about exchanging the Bose for the SONOS Play:1 and add the Playbar and another Play:1 and Sub to that.

                what are your thoughts gentleman?

at home (5 rooms = kitchen, bath, bedroom, living room and walk in closet+office) I'm listening to music more than I actually watch TV, so what would be the best setup for me?

should have thought about purchasing wireless speakers in first place -.-

I've got a Playbar, which still needs to be set up. (I'm trying to find out what happened to the Aussie power leads that were meant to arrive last week.)

I like it, and the software is really simple to set up. One downside is that it uses an optical, rather than HDMI, input. A lot of people have difficulty getting 5.1 sound, and the solution is often to add a HDMI switch with optical output between the DVD player or source and the Playbar.

Do you have any existing HiFi gear? If you have an amp, you can reuse that with an older zone player.

otherwise, a bar and a sub, plus maybe a couple of 1s or 3s for your living room, depends on size.

all other rooms 1 or 3, I have a 5 in my kitchen and it can rock the room no problem in fact it's hardly ever even turned up, overkill really.

Sonos is 100% quality and mho much more versatile than other wireless systems

For my 2001 Mazda B series utility truck I have a Kenwood bluetooth deck, a 350 watt amplifier and four 6X8 speakers both by Rockford-Fosgate; in an extended cab with two facing rear pull down seats. With a max of 35, 19 is the last comfortable volume level I can use. Nothing seems to distort, even at higher volume levels. Total was about 850USD, but the only repairs I'll need will be speakers and the four wont be any more than 250USD.

Then an iPhone SE/bluetooth headphone (Jam Transit mini buds; 28USD bargain, 40USD normally) for the gym.
