Almost two months, 4 soaks w/ agitation. They're softening up, so they will go through a complete wash next time around. After that it's wash when dirty as always. The infancy stage with this denim has been so smooth  😘

              @Midgegante:

I received these yesterday and put them through their first soak.  Here are some numbers, should this help anyone.  Huge thanks to Matt, Giles and Paula for helping select the right pair to order.

These are tagged 33 (I am normally 34 TTS):

              Pre-soak:
              Waist:  17.2
              Thigh:  13.25
              Inseam:  35.5
              Hem:  9

              Post-soak:
              Waist:  16.75
              Thigh:  13
              Inseam:  34.5
              Hem:  8.9

I soaked them for one-hour with no agitation using what I'd characterize as slightly warm water, then let them drip dry overnight.  But they fit perfectly.

Pretty damn stiff out of the bag and post-soak, but they are beautiful and dark.  I highly recommend them to those on the fence.

              Very useful, thank you.

I've fondled, handled and worn a lot of IH denim, but I just got a (slightly tapered) pair of these, and my gods are they insane… The only thing I'm scared of, is indigo transfer... It'll be like an indigo version of King Midas' disease - whatever I touch shall turn into indigo... They look like OVERDYED jeans for chrissake... Might wash 'm 250 times before actually wearing them...

Just had their first full wash cycle. 1 wash, 4 soaks in almost 4 months. Post image sucks  😞

Is there any variability in those or are they pretty much all the same (within a given size…)?

Curious: no cuffs, with the original hem length to achieve those stacks?

Hey thank you, @Dishelveled! that's awfully nice of you to say.

I had these hemmed to 33", and they then shrunk to around 32" after a few hot soaks. All creased up now (and not straightened out to measure), they measure 30.5", which is just about my dress pant inseam (~30").

In IH denim, I generally want 32" after shrinkage to account for the creases I get. The exceptions to that are the XHS which I hemmed to 33", and the 814's, which I hemmed to 32". But I absolutely wish I would've gone for 30.5-31" on the 814's because the cut is looser and the fabric is not as thick so I have extra length that gets bunched up at the bottom.
