Recently picked this up in black.

This is beautiful! Such a high quality finish. The leather is thick and beefy. Although it is the same thickness as one of my other belts the burnishing to the edges of this one makes it feel more substantial.  Also, the brass keeper is really meaty!

The best bit though is the iridescent sheen that the black has in certain light. It seems to have hints of brown in it.  Have tried to photograph the effect…

What about crocking of the black version? Does it fade on lighter pants like duck?
My actual black belt does, even after a year of daily use…
Thinking of grabbing me a new one for that reason...

I have a belt for indigo jeans and a belt for non-indigo. Only way to avoid this happening.

Well, the stain is from the belt, it's black dye, not indigo transferred via the belt…
And I'd like to have a black belt with my duck...
With my actual belt the crocking is quite heavy: there's also black stain on my fingers if I rub against the back of the belt...

Really? Never experienced that with a black belt before. Is that supposed to happen?

My IHB-02 does it, not noticeable on jeans but white tees…

Unfortunately, the black IHB-01 does crock like my other black belt (Scott Willis Heavy Duty)…
It does not really bother me... - however, I am asking myself why. I used to have black leather belts for just a few bucks that didn't leave any marks, even on white pants...

Maybe because this one will last you a lifetime - well a decade or so at least.  I have been waring mine virtually every day for 10 years now and it still has years of left left in it.
