They are. Surprisingly so as they're like bricks to hold in the hand and the leather uppers are stiff and thick. But when they're on feet they're like slippers. I think it's to do with the shape of the soles. These were Megatron's pair and they are 1/2 a size too big for me but the way they hold the ankle and lace up means there's no unwanted movement.

So pleased was I that I've ordered a pair of custom Wesco Boss from Enabler-in-Chief Padmore….

You will be in thrall to the Bootmaker -Enabler- I see custom Foot Patrols, Jobmaster  brown domains with Packer uppers and MP toe   Wescoitis once contracted is difficult if not impossible to cure. Much like IronHeart Disease….

The black sole on these pair really sets them apart. Can I ask where it was done?

I really like the look of these and now that they're on sale, it may be time to bite. But I have a very hard time sizing shoes correctly and finding shoes that are comfortable for me.. Is it expensive/a PITA to return these to the UK if I have to?

I wear a 10 in my Red Wing Iron Rangers, but generally wear a 10.5-11 in Sneakers and my Frye's. Any advice on what I would go for in these? Also, would you describe the toe box as roomy or tight?

Assuming you are outside of Europe, It'll be USD35 if you use our returns option.  Will it be a pain in the arse?  Dunno what your threshold is, but most people find it pretty hassle free…..

I'd go 10 and I'd describe the toe box as roomy.  @Megatron1505 ?

Toe box is definitely roomy. I'm often an E and the D in these fit me with room to wiggle. Also, go with your RW size not your sneaker size.

Edit: I guess that would be the same as a lace to toe JH classic from on their site. My bad. These are super gorgeous. But green isn't my color. Blue/veggie/or black would be excellent.
