I'm getting a bit long in the tooth for any more of this banality…..

Oh come on G, it's just a bit of 'armless fun.
It seams there are others at IHUK who could shoulder some of the flak.
You're getting stitched up mate. 🙂

This has been a disarmingly funny conversation to read. If only it was a bit longer…..

For me, I like 26.5" at least on my(XL)LS shirts, rather have a little extra and that is the perfect length for me.

Armed with that data, you should have this issue sewn up by the end of the week.

                          Hat, coat……..TAXI!

That comment felled me G. I'll just run-off.

Was there ever an update on future arm lengths?

I tried on a couple of these shirts from Iron Heart today and had to go XXL to fit my chest, but was left with sleeves that were a couple of inches too long (usually wear 25.5 sleeves with 17 inch collar fitted shirts). The body was also pretty long. Obviously designed for tall, slender men. It seemed odd in a shop in Asia, where tall men with very long arms are few and far between. Being a stocky 6'1 I'm also not a norm around here  😃

I'd be all over a couple of these shirts if they fit, the material and construction seemed to be perfect

Yes, we decided a year or so ago, to go with the longer length.  Arm length (at a push) can be shortened, it can never be lengthened….

Is that for all shirts, even for the Asian market?  I suppose if cuffs are quite tight some excess there is tolerable. And indeed, lengthening isn't an option.

We do not make one size for one market and another size for a different market.  Given the relatively small volumes of anything we make, that is a complication we do not need…It would add complications for our customers too, "is that the long sleeved version or the short sleeved version?...

We make what we believe to be the best compromise, sizing-wise, and remember our roots lie in biking, where longer arms are essential.  We understand that our sizing won't work for everyone, but almost whatever we did, that would still be true...
