A business trip brought me to the south, first to the alps and then back home to meet my best friend for some hiking, a tiny bit of climbing and a great view over franconia. We also visited the venue of our official wedding in a Renaissance building.

Today my boy played in a Cup Final in the worlds oldest professional Football Stadium. Unfortunately his team lost 1-0, but it was a huge experience for him to play in front of over 3000 people.

Paula and I decided that we wanted a particular tree for the garden.  The only place that we found that sells it, is 220 miles away in Cornwall.  So we came down here.  Have to say, it's the most money I have ever spent on a twig    Decided to take a coastal walk.

And spotted this very intricately detailed and carved headstone…..

You weren't joking.  That is a twig.  The yard in the background looks very nice, and I'm sure the twig will catch up to the rest soon enough.

Yeah, that's a USD75 twig….........When we bought the (wreck of a) house 10 years ago, the only thing in the garden was the house.  The garden was designed, planted and built by me and Paula.....It's actually a central part of who we are......
