This.  So true.  IH in all its glory.  Heavy.  Comfortable.  Better and better with wear.  Certainly the best pant IH has ever done in my mind.  Would love to see another run in slightly diff. colours.  A super heavyweight green and black herringbone material like the pants with that nasty cinch coming in the spring would be awesome.

Thanks to @madmonday I got these beauties. My original intention was to chop them - the length is indeed borderline short. or do you think it would work like that? Man, they are heavy (23 oz!). And super nice - love the red / green contrast.

The length is o.k. .. I wouldn't cut this beast.

I say chop…your legs look like a trunk of a tree compared to the look of your upper body.
cutting these to shorts should be dope imo...go for it!

Just what I thought too. Will have a try wetehr the length will work out, compared to other shorts. I would need to chop them pretty close to the pockets.

I think you could go either way! 705 shorts would be dope, but the pants look all right. I'd say it depends how crazy short inseams make you. I personally can't stand when I feel like my pants are too short.

Maybe a taper?
I think they only look short due to the proportion of the hem opening to the inseam from the knee down.

Max, I feel that they're big all over….....that fit is a great example of why I buy pants small and stretch to fit.

While I agree they look too big. I dunno why you would want 23oz shorts? Surely shorts are to be worn when it's too hot for trousers. I would be tapering them and keeping them for some nice comfy alternatives to jeans.

Didn't expect that many opinions…well I need the waist of a 36 and want my shorts to sit loose (especially in this weight). I live in an area that's not known for super hot climate, so I think 23oz shorts are doable.

My old Carhartt Bermudas have a very similar fit. It's worth a try, I'll report back when I receive them.

One more advantage for a chop job is - you can spare the fight for the 'ultra limited official Camp shorts'

Here they are - no comments on how heavy the fabric was. I'm quite satisfied with the result. I like my shorts comfy and loose and think they will eventually shrink a bit with a wash. The super heavy fabric makes them not too easy to wear in hot conditions but I think I'll find enough situations. So I'm happy.
