Been a bit quiet on here; have not had the camera around much. Thought about it once or twice but chose other moments.

I'm off to India for 2 weeks of work come this weekend. I will be taking the camera. I've heard the internets are shite over there, so not sure when/what I'll get up, nor what I'll have time for work-wise. However, expect to see some of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai on here soon!

Well ^ didn't go according to plan. Ended up getting quite sick in India, and managed to take my camera out one day. I was still too sick to be walking around, and within 3 blocks of walking from the hotel fled back to continue resting. It's taken a few weeks since to get anywhere back to health.

Visited a classic US of A Diner with Mrs Snowy during the week, and took around the back streets of Glebe on Saturday.

Slowly in the process of getting the eye back in. 7 weeks until back in Japan. 1 camera, 1 lens again.

These are from about 2-3 weeks ago now and were left on the card. Was taken with the objective of just making sure I know how to use the camera. Camera's recently been in for a service and is now shiny/ready for Japan next week. Kit is the same as last time, Leica M9-P with Summicron 35mm f2.0 ASPH.

Here we are, back in the wonderful Japan. Flew in this morning, hit the ground running, after a quick shower. Good 5-6 hours sleep on the plane makes all the difference. Per the Japan 15 thread, it's much warmer here than expected. I packed light (read; 2 t-shirts, no spare jeans, 2 denim t-shirts, 1 flannel) so will be doing bit and pieces of shopping. Lots of sightseeking inner city loops today. Think we did well hitting up Harajuku, Omotesando, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ebisu, and Daikanyama in 1 day. THe Suica card makes getting around a dream, no need to wait for the fancy JR trains, which are more limited in their destinations. Walked to the IH office today by mistake, wave at the door on the way past ::).

          Good to be back!

What a way to start the tour. I love the shoe planter and the pic of the framed flower. Good eye!

Thank you all for the compliments. Today we got a bit further 'out' in the morning, but spent the later afternoon in the belly of Shinjuku.

(The standing sushi bar is my ultimate favourite place in Tokyo. It has THE best sushi in the world as far as I'm concerned. Nothing fancy about it, but blows my mind every time. Was there for dinner tonight.)

Next to Shozo is Blue Bottle Coffee. BBC had massive people/hype, with Shozo not being even open yet. When here in November last year, Shozo was all the go, but had recently been knocked down to rebuild what you see now and Blue Bottle wasn't even open at the time (still being built). Amazing what 6 months does..Would like to try Shozo out one of these years! 🙂

Standing Sushi bar has now leapt to the top of my must-do-next-time list.  Just checked, there isn't one in Yokohama.  However, I do have to go into Tokyo one night to get some fishing tackle a friend has bought for me…...So maybe I'll get it done this week....

That one's in Shinjuku, could line something up if you're heading up over the next few nights potentially…

Today we popped down to the Cup Noodle Museum in Yokohama. We also made sure that it was a safe area for Giles to head back to for this afternoon, but didn't let him know we were doing a reccy for him ;). Earthquake around 230pm and my phone got an emergency alert prior to the earthquake being felt. That is seriously a cool use of technology.

After Cup Noodle, we popped upto Ueno Park to have a wander/walk around there. Today was a take it easy day to get the legs used to walking long distances again. Yesterday we did 23,000 steps, today 20,000 on the 'easy' day. The guy who's portrait I took is a bit of a nomad who makes his living selling printed haiku's. Ended up having a decent chat with him about freedom, sun, beers, and most societies only allow 2. I got one of his haiku books, and the photo for 500 yen. I enjoyed talking to the guy and was willing to give him 500 yen just for the conversation, so feel I did well there. Tomorrow it's off to an area I enjoy tomorrow morning down by Setagaya-ku. In the afternoon likely some shopping in Shibuya for Mrs Snowy…..
