Double Crooked Tree draft is magnificent.

That it is Mclain. The Sapient is quite astonishing on draft as well, the mild citrus and cloves come through much more.

Bourbon: because living in Kentucky just makes you want to drink

Kind of a random rant, but related to this thread: wax seals on bottles look cool, but serve no purpose and are annoying as hell.

Note that I've got that out of the way, Deschutes Black Butte XXVI is very good.

Yeah they are pretty annoying. I thought it a bit novel on the first bottle of Shipwreck Porter I got a few years back. Now it's the one slight I have as it just makes a mess getting into one.

I like em. The way Trinity does it it doesn't make a mess at all.

My neighborhood liquor store has always been great at wine and spirits but poor at beer. Now I'm happy to report their beer curation has turned around.  They had a small but well chosen number of superior beers from around the world.  Picked up more Crooked Stave, a French cider, Sammy Smith cider, Saison Dupont… And Stagg Jr bourbon and Rittenhouse rye. I think Stagg Jr is just a younger George T. Stagg, so I have high hopes there. An affordable version of my favorite bourbon.

              Think it, be it.

And yes, those are some Iron Heart tags in the background.  😘

I'd rate it about 3.7/ 5… Big fizzy coke-like head that disappears almost entirely, beautiful red hue, quad colour, good smell, medium bodied, bit boozy aftertaste... All in all I reckon aging it will help...

Curious to hear what you think of the Betelgueze.  I liked it, but didn't think it was worth buying again, since it was pretty damn expensive.

Don't think it's distributed overseas.. Favourite beers of mine that non Australians may be familiar with are Sierra Nevada pale and Weihenstephan Hefe.
