maybe he didnt know/remembered you were on antibiotics and gave you the steriods… usually if i've to go back to a doctor, i'll let them know what meds i'm still on so that they wouldn't give one that would have any adverse reaction while taking the other.

One of my neighbors has a battery dying in a smoke detector. I've been hearing it 'beep' every minute for 3 days now. Fuck me, how hard is it to replace a battery! (or maybe they're dead, and fuck me can't someone stop that beeping, they're dead!)

Good idea BlackO. If it keeps up and I get much more twitchy (incase you can't tell), I'll be giving them a very friendly tip 😉

Edit: although sterilisation might be taking it a little too far.

I saw a doctor at a walk in clinic in early January with leg and back pain. Was given a bottle of anti inflammatory drugs and was told it will go away with rest. A month later it hasn't, only worse. This past weekend a CT scan revealed a severely herniated L5-S1 requiring surgery ASAP. Definitely NOT something that will just "go away". I can barely walk, sciatic pain is absolutely miserable. Be careful with your back!

Really sorry to hear that, man. I had that surgery at 20 years-old. It will get better, if you take the necessary precautions from here on out.

Once you are recovered from surgery, pay extra attention to your core strength. I know those exercises aren't the most fun, but they will make all the difference in your day-to-day quality of life.

Best of luck, and let us know how you are progressing.

Send it to your health insurance imo, its also depending on the "Franchise" you chose when you signed the contract respective you can choose that every year or sometimes even under the year depending on the insurance company i think. Obviously the higher you chose your part the lower the insurance premiums are and vice-versa @Finn666
The Hospital bill should prob go directly to your health insurance and you pay up to the franchise you chose yourself. Any exceeding Balance above the franchise you pay 10% percent. The higher your Franchise the more you pay yourself in the worst case with lots of health costs up to chf3200 medical cost a year depending how you choose your Franchise and of course the obligatory monthly premiums in addition, which are different depending on age, gender, community/Canton you live in and chosen Franchise. Thats the System.
Coverage for ambulance cost in certain cases in the base insurance is usually max 50% up to chf 500 per case but i think also depending on your Franchise and the definition of the medical urgency in each case. Your insurance will explain everything to you.

@CLJ good luck man get well soon

                                          Cheers,
                                          David

@CLJ while I know it sucks to deal with, from my understanding lumbar surgeries are the easier of spinal procedures. Are they fusing? Listen to the wise words of @seanocono Core strength and maintaining mobilty of surrounding levels will help you feel better and prolong the health of the surrounding discs. I have had a cervical fusion, have 4 thoracic deviations (2 bulging 2 herniated) and 2 lumbar fractures that never healed proper. Decompression and strict core workouts are what keeps me upright
