Thanks Giles. I may be leaning towards the 555's… don't like the idea of crotch "bunching" that has been pointed out by a few members for the 301's.

I have both the 301's (old version) and the 555-01's in a size 36 and have never had any crotch bunching issues.  I like the 555-01's a little better because they are tighter on the sides of the upper block (hips) and have a slightly longer rise.  In general both are comfortable for me.

Thinking of these as my next pair, I have 555-03 in a waist 33.. does anyone have both pairs and kept with the same size?

I just got a pair of the 301s and they are so comfortable compared to the "Devils fit". I can now access my pockets without pain and the heavier fabric really is softer. I can't wait to break them in and get some sick fades. I know the 666 is Giles fave but I have to say I'm really into these 301's

If my 301s had a higher back rise, by just an inch or two, I would be in jean heaven! They are great in any case. Enjoy.

You should try the the 555-01, I believe the rise is a little longer than the 301's.

Been wearing them heavily for a while now though they got hung up for the summer.  Left knee has a little hole now and the crotch is developing one as well. Time to get em fixed!

I tried these on yesterday at self edge and pretty much loved them. My only complaint is that the top block seemed a little loose. I tried on the size 33 and everything was just the right fit but I still had some waist space left over. My current pair is super tight in the waist for a 33 (DWC-UHR) but I really don't like the fit much below the knees. I think these will be in the lineup for my next pair.

I don't recommend sizing down lightly, but consider it. Lots of stretch and that top block issue is absolutely a thing. Great jeans, though.

Thanks. I will definitely have to give them another look when I'm ready to buy. I'm thinking 777s might be my other option.
