There's actually a sequel to the Axl Rose story that occurred about a year later when they came back to town with Aerosmith. I'm too beat to type that one out tonight even though it's a shorter story. I've met a lot of celebrities in my day, mostly of the rock star variety. If we start another thread called "touched by a celebrity" I can tell the story about when I was groped by Dave Matthews.

I have a few.
This is probably the best because it is so utterly embarrassing.
As you may know, I live in one of the largest sailing areas in the world, we are inundated with amazing sailors and especially short-handed sailors. I am in awe of them all, Sir Robin, Alex Thompson, Dame Ellen etc etc…
Dee Caffari is another http://www.deecaffari.co.uk/en/index.php and she used to have her offices close to ours.
I read her book after her last single handed circumnavigation. And I new it inside out. At one point, she was stuck up the mast in the Southern Ocean for 90 minutes, the boat sailing itself, with a storm approaching. At this point, the closest human being to her was in the space station....
Anyway, we were at a party and I popped to the loo, when I got back Paula was chatting to a group of people. I started talking to the only female in the group (of course). I asked her how she knew the host and where she worked. When she told me where she worked, the following ensued:
G - Isn't that where Dee Caffari's place is?
D - I am Dee Caffari!
G - (Digging himself in even deeper) - I want your babies.....I invited her to our next party, she did not come......
True story. Ask Paula, she was listening and was even more embarrassed than me.....

My father worked for over 30 years for the Lufthansa, not as a pilot, but he worked there and had some good connections.
So, my mother and father had some nice honeymoon time in Johannesburg (South Africa). I was not born, but my mom was pregnant.
On the fly home there was some trouble with their seats, the booked business class, got tickets, but there was no place for them, and mommies belly was too big for the economy class.
So they got some nice seats from our local rockband the SCORPIONS, they played a show in South Africa and they we´re on their way back home too.I also met this fine dude(s):

Mega, dennis leary was the man. My fave comedian when i was younger. Trickhell, bill murray is fuckin awesome dude!! Always has been, not because someone made a website and said he was and now EVERYONE loves him. Dude is fuckin funny. PB mansion and feldman plus Henry rollins are no slouch either man. You look sooo diff in that pic with corey tho. Like a columbian hitman lol. Great stories.

I got to meet (and record) Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Terry Jones and they were all just the nicest blokes. When TJ started doing his old female voices I could barely control the recording software due to laughing so much.

area in the mid 90's. We were on a first name basis, so very nice, much like her character in the first

I got to meet Classified (canadian rapper) went out back of the venue to have a "smoke" and he came out to have one aswell. So my friends and i shared ours with him and chatted him up a lil.
