I was in my local village butchers ( Kinver, near Stourbridge, West Midlands, UK ) and spotted a chap with long curly hair at the counter being served.

Turned out to be Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin, apparently he lives nearby in a fancy farmhouse.  I spoke with him very briefly, asked him how he was etc.  He was very normal and quite approachable.

I might have to start celebrity stalking, maybe I should wait outside the local butcher for a few days with my Led Zeppelin back catalog and get them signed!

There is no 'I' in team …............ however there are five in 'individual brilliance'.

Oh God Mega, I have a million stories both good and bad! It would take a while to list them all but the
worst celeb was probably Faye Dunaway and the best Meryl Streep, Anette Benning, Forest Whitaker and
George Burns. Being in the music business for years I've met many rock stars as well. Outside of work I'd
have to say one of the oddest celeb moments I had was standing between Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston
at a magazine stand. We were the only three people in the shop and we were all elbow to elbow…No one
          said a word.
Another great celeb was John Voight, Angie's dad, we got to talking in line at a local deli and were there for
an hour discussing food and resturants.
On a funny note the last celeb I ran into outside of work remembered me from work, Tom Hanks. He was in
a boot shop I frequent and said " Hey, didn't I see you just a couple weeks ago? " and I said yes. I asked
him what he was looking for boot wise and he said, " Nothing in particular, I'm just in here to blow money
on more boots like you probably are."
Great guy, and he was right.  😉 😉

Great thread! I have a few but will try to stick to the most notable or infamous. I met Deon Sanders in high school which was easily my worst experience with a celeb or athlete. He was Super Bowl bound with the 49ers and came to give some of his old teachers tickets, then was a total asshole to the kids he interacted with.

Met Jerry Springer at a little shop on Sanibel Island Florida. Surprisingly seemed embarrassed to be recognized.

Met Lynrd Skynrd twice, the more notable was a couple streets from my house. Ricky Medlock's uncle who played with Blackfoot owned the house. All of these Florida rednecks were hanging out in his garage drinking Jim Beam and jamming. The second time I ran across them was at a steakhouse in Florida.

I have had a few more experiences with musicians, mostly country, due to a friend who's dad was a radio station manager and would become a dj himself. Even got to party with a couple acts from the genre, most fun being a drunken night in the Everglades with a couple acts after a seafood festival.

Hmmm…I waited on Malcolm McDonald from MadTV. He was very nice, though I didn't really talk to him that much. I saw Robin Williams several times out and about in SF, but never really talked to him.

Probably my best story is after Sean Penn had wrapped shooting for "Milk", he came into the bar where I worked. I had just gotten off shift, and was out front talking to our door guy. We joked with him about not letting him in without an ID, which he gamely played along with. After he had gone inside, the bartender who was working comes running up to the door and was like, "Sean Penn just ordered a white russian and our milk is fucking sour!" I ran down the block to get some milk for his drink. He thanked me on the way out.

Some of the SF Giants used to frequent my bar, too. Most notably, Brian Wilson aka The Beard used to come in alone, and just stand at the end of the bar all by himself.

well, i have a story of my own. but it ended up rather awkward.

he's a american born chinese celebrity from hk, his name is kevin cheng and he happened to be in singapore at that time. i was at a mall just chilling over coffee and ended up spotted him and some girls having a photo moment. i guess he was  probably just taking in the sights around town. so i thought i gave it a go. so i picked up after him and some how he went down this alley that was leading to the toilets and i just managed to catch up with him when he was coming out. apparently i was so star struck that i was lost for words and the only thing i could muster was asking him if he acted in this hk drama that i watched, which was kinda obvious and he said yes.

man, looking back now and then, i just couldnt figure why i didnt ask him for a photo or something.

"Loyalty is a two way street. If i'm asking for it from you, then you're getting it from me."

Guns n' Roses in 1987 in a small Missouri town called Cape Girardeau. This is a pretty cool story. I was 16 years old, and I'd just recently gotten my drivers license. The local arena announced Alice Cooper with LA Guns and Faster Pussycat opening, so I thought that sounded pretty kick ass and I camped out at the arena the night before tix went on sale, and scored front row center seats. The show was still a few months away, and right around that time Appetite for Destruction was released, and it quickly became my favorite album even though no one but me and a few friends had heard it at the time. Next thing I knew, LA Guns and Faster Pussycat were off the tour and were being replaced by Guns n' Roses, so I was even more stoked. Two days before the show, me, a friend, and my little brother who was 7 at the time took my car to the local shopping mall. We were walking around, and suddenly two guys walked past us who were clearly not from Missouri. It was Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin. After overcoming our shock and disbelief, we ran after them and asked if they were indeed who they obviously were, and they were shocked anyone in the mall recognized them. They invited us to hang out and walk around shopping with them for a while and were telling us a bunch of crazy stories about playing to a warehouse full of Mexicans that knew every word to every song, and filming the video to Welcome to the Jungle on a Sunday at a club called Scream. After a while, Axl said they were heading back to their hotel. I asked where they were staying, and it was a hotel almost a mile away, so since they had walked to the mall, I offered to give them a ride, and they accepted. We got into my car, and Izzy asks if he could play a cassette that he had bought, and puts it into my stereo. The first song was Rock and Roll Radio, which Axl cranked and started singing along to at the top of his lungs. In. My. Car. So away we go, me, my 7 year old little brother, my friend, Axl Rose, and Izzy Stradlin, in my 1974 Chevy Nova, rocking out to the Ramones. When we got to the hotel, Axl invited us up to his room, and proceeded to bring in the rest of the band minus Slash, who was in the next room down with his "girlfriend". We hung around for about an hour in Axl's room before I had to leave to pick up my sister. I told Axl that I had front row center seats, and he said "well I guess I'll see you at the show then". Two days later, I'm front row center and GnR are playing still the best show I've seen or heard them play, when in between songs, Axl says "hey everyone, I just want to introduce you to my buddy Chuck" and directs the guy manning the spotlight to shine it on me. "Chuck's a kickass dude, everybody give it up for Chuck." Shit you not. I was an instant legend at my high school, especially a few months later when their popularity exploded and they turned into the biggest band in the world.
