I haven't been on the forum much lately, but I just saw this. I can't wait. One idea I had would be to do non-contrast stitching on the handwarmer pockets to keep the sleek look of the original, not break up front of the jacket. (Either way I have to have one!)

I completely agree with both points. No contrast stitching on the hand warmer pockets, and I need one.

Very excited about the storm rider but have one question:  Is there any way to lessen the waist "flair" that IH denim jackets have when pockets + a little length are added?  Maybe I'm alone on this, but the pocketed versions almost have a feminine look to them in my opinion due to the modified body shape (though it's primarily when buttoned).  I assume the pattern is changed to accommodate pockets + length and keep a fitted profile, but haven't really noticed this outside of IH.  It's one reason I've kept with the more cropped, traditionally styled jackets.

Just want to echo the no contrast stitching on hand warmer pockets as a general principle.  Love the pockets, but don't like when they draw attention to themselves. This is my only gripe with the SEXIH22 type III that I have.

I happen to love cord pockets. When it breaks in and softens up, it becomes such a luxurious lining for handwarmer pockets. When I bought my Aero jacket, I asked for cord pockets and couldn't be happier. Plus it's cotton so it breathes really well and my hands don't end up getting sweaty.

I also love cord pockets, and, yeah, I think alpaca would be too bulky.

What if the cord pockets were brushed?

The cord pockets on my RMC pea cost feel almost like velvet they are so soft. Cord pockets are a terrific and practical idea.

                  Think it, be it.

I retract my earlier doubts around cord pockets.  Clearly many with direct experience can testify to their awesomeness.  For the record, I love corduroy but was just questioning it for this application.  I have now seen the light.

The cord pockets on my IHJ-14 are one of my favorite features of the jacket.
My Mister Freedom N-1H deck jacket has cord pocket lining too, love 'em.

Non contrast stitching will be used on the pockets as we are doing with the IH-526J-DD

As mentioned in the "Questions…." thread. I would love to see H take a crack at doing an Iron Heart version of the Belstaff Trialmaster with waxed cotton outer, flannel lined, heavy duty IH zipper and press studs etc....it would be super bad ass.

All this brainstorming for me thinking…. How about an Iron Heart blanket? No pockets, no jacket sewn onto it, no sleeves, just a blanket. Make it with UHF sewn to melton wool.

I am all over this by the way…..
