      Nice!

Oh, and I haven't seen one of those old paper IH bags for a while.  Looks like the cat has it broken in nicely.

I feel very strongly that there are so many unwanted animals out there badly in need of a home, that all pets should be adopted, and then spayed or neutered. Overpopulation of pets is almost as big of a problem as it is for humans. (Almost.) Your dog will not even register a difference after he's healed from surgery.

Beautiful animals everyone.  PP, love those Alice Cooper eyes on Zippy.

I love taking selfies with this dog 1) because she is so damned sweet and 2) she always sits next to me on the couch and she is right at eye level.

Has anyone ever heard that it negatively affects your dog to have it neutered before a year?

Our vet tells us there are no negative side effects and it drastically reduces the chances of reproductive cancers in female dogs

The breeder we got Lia from tells us it can affect her joints

One of our friends whose family used to breed Dobermans and now currently is involved in Doberman rescue tells me that having her spayed before a year can affect her bladder development and she will have incontinence when she gets older

                            Can anyone confirm or deny?

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

Can't confirm nor deny, but I've had 4 girls and all have been spayed - 2 were older than a year already when I got them, and already spayed.  1 was prob. about 6 months when I had her done.  And the one I got as a puppy I seem to recall being advised by the vet to wait awhile, but I can't remember how long - but def. before she ever went into heat.  My big girl that I post a lot here currently has hip issues (she gets sore when she runs or plays too hard), but who knows if spaying was a factor.  Another one had back problems as she got older, but still did pretty well and lived to be 16-17 yrs old. None of them have had incontinence issues.

Over the years I have encountered females that will pee themselves when they get excited, with visitors and such (dogs too  🙂 ).  I can't say my young dogs never did that but they all outgrew it.

As far as harm goes… Supposedly it harms girl dogs much more than males… Some say about -30% of the lifespan(Might differ depending on breed?) + than she’s not as nice or friendly. It’s a gal thing and has something to do with motherly instincts which come with being a lady dog. And it also has many other risks and unpleasant affects as well… Maybe she’ll live a problem free happy life and maybe not. At any rate it’s well worth doing some serious research before making the final decision.

Are Rottweilers prone to joint problems? I know some dogs are- my brother's Great Dane developed bad hips around 5 or so and everyone kinda shrugged and said, "yep, that's how they are."  Seems to me the cancer risk reduction might be worth the increased potential for joint issues, if you dog isn't genetically at great risk for them to begin with.
