        I'm really pissed off that all I had on me was my iPhone.  The light was amazing….

          12c, they're crazy! (and the lighting does look pretty good. Have just looked @ Finn's sunrise, hard to compete, but equally beautiful in it's own rights)

              ^I still think my eyes are playing tricks. It's pretty close to the range of that can cause death! They're hardcore Giles, watch out!

              Wikipedia;

              A water temperature of 10 °C (50 °F) can lead to death in as little as one hour, and water temperatures near freezing can cause death in as little as 15 minutes.[33] A notable example of this occurred during the sinking of the Titanic, when most people who entered the −2 °C (28 °F) water died within 15–30 minutes.[34]

              The actual cause of death in cold water is usually the bodily reactions to heat loss and to freezing water, rather than hypothermia (loss of core temperature) itself. For example, plunged into freezing seas, around 20% of victims die within 2 minutes from cold shock, (uncontrolled rapid breathing, and gasping, causing water inhalation, massive increase in blood pressure and cardiac strain leading to cardiac arrest, and panic); another 50% die within 15–30 minutes from cold incapacitation (inability to use or control limbs and hands for swimming or gripping, as the body "protectively" shuts down the peripheral muscles of the limbs to protect its core),[35] and exhaustion and unconsciousness cause drowning, claiming the rest within a similar time.[33]

                                  It's less exciting than it sounds. Some of the trains on the British rail network have names, and this one's is Bram Stoker. It was running on the branchline, after I'd come up on the mainline to Lancaster.

                                  So a local train for local people! 😉

                                        We have a naval pipeline running behind the office.  If carries fuel from the fuel dump in Gosport to a fuel jetty about 400 yards from the office.  It supplies the Portsmouth based Navy with bunker fuel and aviation fuel (for the aircraft carriers),

                                        Someone in the Navy decided that it would be a good thing not to give terrorists or anyone else for that matter easy access to the pipeline.

                                        It suits me to the ground because we have amazing built in security.  Including a guy with a machine gun 200 yards away who can see the front door of our offices….
