My wife says they look like uggs, but they're comfortable and I don't have to tie them. I see your point, but she's not entirely wrong.
-
Great!! Great to see some well-worn specimens. Who did the Dr. Soles? Bakers. I think it was about $140 round trip.
-
I love those uppers but the stitching on the sole illustrates that you get what you pay for in cobblering.
-
what's wrong with it? @mclaincausey
-
@finn666 he is saying bakers did a great job
-
No I'm not unfortunately. It looks like they were struggling to control the speed of the machine. The stitching isn't uniform.
-
They do look fine, but it's a noticeable difference, that was my observation. I'd say it's probably not worth another $300 to get more uniform stitching but you can get it.
-
that's what I thought @derivative666 cuz I knew he wasn't happy with it. imo i think I'd be totally satisfied with it. looks like its getting the job done pretty well. so why spend twice or morejust to have a flawless stitch job done?! just my 0.02
saw them in person btw. and imo they did a great job

Well we all have different standards and price sensitivity. But I had a sole job done for $50 where the stitching looks like the Viberg with the Dainite sole above. Love the boots but I won't be using Baker's. Ok done crapping up the thread. Back on topic, anyone know what to make of Brett visiting this Mexican shoe factory? http://instagram.com/p/vBjVn_igmG/

Sourcing leathers or looking into a Viberg budget range, who knows?
-
If you watch the video he already mentions a viberg sub brand made in Vietnam or something doesn't he?
-
Pretty sure he's talking about Stompers. http://workboot.com/collections/vendors?q=stompers
-
Stompers is made in Vietnam… Was no one paying attention whilst watching the video?
