Interesting. In one sense, that seems to be solid business sense, but in another, it kind of flies in the face of the messaging that a lot of heritage makers would promulgate of timelessness and sticking to their traditions.

MCL  what does promulgate mean?? Big word for a bunch of denim heads

I see your point, but she's not entirely wrong. 😉

Bakers. I think it was about $140 round trip.

I love those uppers but the stitching on the sole illustrates that you get what you pay for in cobblering.

No I'm not unfortunately. It looks like they were struggling to control the speed of the machine. The stitching isn't uniform.

I've seen some Bakers resole jobs on Instagram and they all look pretty good to me. But I'm not that anal about stitching etc. Urb's look fine to me.

They do look fine, but it's a noticeable difference, that was my observation. I'd say it's probably not worth another $300 to get more uniform stitching but you can get it.

that's what I thought @derivative666 cuz I knew he wasn't happy with it. imo i think I'd be totally satisfied with it. looks like its getting the job done pretty well. so why spend twice or morejust to have a flawless stitch job done?! just my 0.02
saw them in person btw. and imo they did a great job

Well we all have different standards and price sensitivity. But I had a sole job done for $50 where the stitching looks like the Viberg with the Dainite sole above. Love the boots but I won't be using Baker's. Ok done crapping up the thread. Back on topic, anyone know what to make of Brett visiting this Mexican shoe factory? http://instagram.com/p/vBjVn_igmG/
