Yea, I gave mine two soaks, 45 minutes in warm water, followed by another 30-40 in very hot water. Just wanted to make sure to get all the shrinkage out.

How's the texture on these? Rough?, smooth? And are the thighs wider than the 555-01s? Cos I really like how the 555-01s fit!

They are incredibly stiff to start and the denim seems to fade fast but is a tough bitch to get to soften up. The thigh on mine (sz33 thigh is 12") is pretty tight but unsure how it compares to the 555.

Having both, the rise is the biggest difference, I like the shorter rise on the 301s but it just depends. And yea what Anesthetist said, they are stiff as hell starting out and the fades did start to come in fast, but they take a little while to really break in

Shorter rise sounds great! My 555-01s are size 29 and slightly loose on the waist, should I go with a 29 or 30 on these? I'm gonna pull the trigger next month!

I highly recommend you do, the denim on these is amazing, assuming it hasn't changed from the first run. These are by far my favorites in rotation…and I remember after the initial soak they were pretty snug around the waist, but my measurements change from 32 to 33 depending on the jean

You up sized on these right? Are the thighs looser or tighter than the 555-01? Cos I don't want the thighs to be any looser than my 555-01s.

I did not but almost wished I had since I have fairly athletic legs. As for you, I'd measure your 555 and compare to the size charts for the 301.

And I've found the thighs to be fairly similar, I wear my jeans pretty slim so I can't really tell the difference, dunno if that helps at all

yeah ive been losing fat in my thighs at a faster rate than ive been gaining muscle (thanks squats) so its been getting better.  they are more comfy after my first wash though.  I do notice them fading fast, but i'm getting some nice high contrast fades (IMO).  they look great and are becoming one of my favorite pairs of pants.  Need to get me a pair of black IH's next… which pair would fit like these?
