Thanks!.. Will do!.. And yeah: was looking pretty hard at that Arrogant Bastard…

The description on the bottle is priceless. Basically says yeah, this beer has too much flavor for you, you probably won't like it. 😃

I prefer the Dirty Bastard to the Arrogant Bastard, but if you're going to choose one from Stone's the Oaked Double is your best bet. Founder's Imperial Stout would be my first on that list though..making me rethink future bartering E.

Brooklyn Brewery beers have never really impressed me.  Victory puts out some pretty solid brews, and anything from Stone is worth a shot.

^I'll echo Chris's sentiments exactly, and once again add that Green flash puts out solid stuff and I generally enjoy Jolly Pumpkins stuff

Yeah that Green Flash Barley Wine looks good.. I'll look into the Jolly Pumpkins stuff as well.

Oh, and why I added the Brooklyn stout: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/brooklyn-black-chocolate-stout/531/

The ones in stock aren't their best offerings, but Jester King is quite good, too.  Arguably the best brewery in Texas, though that's not saying much.

                      Blasphemer!

I'd love for you to change my mind.  I find it incredibly disappointing that this state doesn't have a more vibrant brewing culture, but at least in the Houston area, most of the beer being produced is pretty forgettable.

Seul, if you want an IPA, I highly recommend the Odell. The Founders Centennial is decent, but the Odell is fantastic.

Atwater Brewing, who is based in Detroit, is actually working on opening up a new place in Austin in the near future.  While they may not be the best Michigan has to offer, some of their recent stuff has actually been quite good.  Could be a nice addition to the Texas beer scene…

Any recommendations from the Founders line up? I'm going to my local quality beer store tomorrow and my knowledge of Yankee brews is severely limited.

I'm mainly going to look for things aged in bourbon casks I reckon.

Of their standard runs I like the Imperial Stout, Dirty Bastard, and Curmudgeon. The latter likely my favorite of the three. They produce all of these in bourbon barrel, but limited run.
