I should start off by saying that these jeans rule. These are my first iron heart jeans, although I do have the IH-526J jacket. In comparison, the 21oz indigo is softer and possibly a tad more breathable, but I can see these jeans softening up to be more comfy after a few wears.

To talk about sizing, I ordered a size 29 (I'm 5'11 and 130 lbs, so I'm fairly skinny), and I believe the size is pretty spot on. I anticipated an inch in stretching, so at the moment the waist is a little tight. But in the two wears since I've bought them they have stretched noticeably.

My previous black jeans were Nudies (don't laugh), so I wasn't expecting a fit that was quite as slim as their offerings. Boy was I wrong! These fit perfectly slim, even for my thin frame. So anyone on the fence who is looking for a true slim fit, go for it. If that's not what you're looking for, maybe consider opting for a more forgiving size.

The denim itself is what really won me. The thickness does wonders for how it drapes on the legs, it makes my previous jeans look like flimsy suit trousers! And these things are DARK. And on top of that they won't fade. Pretty bad ass.

I might have preferred black accents instead of red, but that's no bother (black sharpie can solve that). These jeans will last quite a while, so I'm happy to say I've made a worthy investment

Here are some pics I took over the weekend. Sorry for the lack of detail, my only other camera is a film camera (and I needed to model with it too). The only revision I would make to my review is that the legs are definitely looser than the thighs. But I'm personally liking the straight leg effect

I need jeans that will look good with my western boots. So I’m saving for some new jeans. + got Superblack 😘
Due to the waist measurements I would need to go from a 34 buster to a 33 devil.
                      now the problem: thigh–> 12.3(buster) - 11.7(666SB)= .6
Seeing my Busters, anyone think I could lose .6 of an inch in the thigh for the 666SB cut? will they mold?

The thigh measurements were way to narrow for me too. I don't think that this fabric is very forgiving…

It's hard to judge from the pics.  I think that you would have a really tight fit, and like Max said, the superblack denim is not very forgiving.  Nothing has ever bruised my hipbones more than 9301s, tts, and those have a comparatively "relaxed" top block.

Yea, I’m really unsure about these. :-\ I think if they would fit it would be something similar to how this gentleman’s Devils fit as he seems a similar build.

                            Love these last two pictures:

I'm probably just being paranoid and you're all going to tell me it's part of the ageing and the beauty of making your denim unique, carry on wearing hard etc etc, but just thought I'd check in anyway. Ive got a line which has developed on the left leg where the fabric has bloomed. It stands out, but obviously not as much as on an indigo pair. I just wanted to check whether it's normal as this is my first pair of Iron Heart jeans and I'm a bit new to all of this.

BTW thanks Max power and sabergirl for steering me in the right direction. It turned out I was able to get the denim and fit I wanted from a size 32 IH-9634Z. So I’m happy. 🙂

That actually looks like a cut.  Either we let it leave the factory and subsequently got through QC like that, unlikely but certainly not impossible or you have managed to cut the denim - is that possible?

I can't think of any occasion where a cut might've happened, I just noticed it  when I was sitting down the other day.

The culprit has now been identified. iPhone 4 in the left pocket seems to have gradually worn the denim (and inside pocket).

Thinking about picking up a slip case and storing in the back pocket from now on. Any recommendations or suggestions?
