Felt like I had to try In and Out while in L.A. after all the hype. That constitutes a cheat meal for me that I don't take lightly because I generally don't eat fast food. Boy was I let down. Not even as good as Five Guys or for that matter Carl's Jr/Hardee's.

I just don't think it's special. The meat is bland and the patty is small. If I'm eating a burger it better be good, because it's not hard to make a brilliant burger and they are generally off the menu for me. I found the burger thoroughly mediocre and the fries were a soggy mess. Decent flavor, if under salted, unacceptable texture. I'm a snob though, admittedly. I live in a town with incredible burgers, I generally despise fast food, and it's trivial to make a burger yourself. But even with my standards I've had chain burgers that blew this away.

I think he's talking about the European Parliament elections on May 22nd.

I sit (on my arse) corrected. The MEP election is big news over here at the moment, people getting their knickers in a twist that BNP-Lite, otherwise known and UKIP, will …...I don;t know really what they'll do as they just look like a bunch of tools to me.

I lived in LA and never saw anything special about In N Out (but I liked "Oki Dog" :)). Fast food is an acquired taste - sometimes its what you eat growing up - i.e. I like White Castles once in awhile, but they are arguably gross. And Skyline chili (Cincinnati style fast food chile over spaghetti or chili dogs) is nothing special but if you eat a few times it grows on you in a big way.

I had a poutines dish that used a Cincinnati style chili in lieu of gravy and it was fantastic.
