4c, that looks pretty good. As I'm sure you already know these things will shrink a lot in length but hardly at all in width.  Looks like you got plenty of room. Be sure to post an updated fit once it's dry.

Nice job sizing it. I think these shirts are best once machine dried and fully shrunk - it makes them feel even more thick and dense and cozy. Also I love how once you wear them a little the sleeves start looking like the Michelin man's arms.

Agreed. Love the fit. If it were me I'd fold the cuff ribbing on the sleeves back halfway on themselves, I think it'd look even better. $0.02

I would recommend against doing that….imo it'll work to loosen the cuff and it won't necessarily snap back. Also, there's probably more shrink everywhere (i.e. Sleeves) so it'll look better later

That's never been my experience with a sweat, particularly with thin ribbing like that. Indeed I've even rolled a thick IH Henley over the cuffs of my IH sweat, which is far more drastic, with zero lasting effect on the cuffs.

Thanks, Yea I sized kinda big to start out with and now it’s pretty snug and fluffy too! Mostly dumb luck and fear on my part. super happy. 🙂

Me too  😘 I was able to stretch/shrink it into the perfect shape.

Also just pulled a cotton fiber out of my sweatshirt that was just shy of 1.5 inches! Regular cotton is about 7/8ths of an inch, so this means SG sweats are also long staple cotton!
Buy the best get the best I suppose…

Now that I finally have my sweatshirt I think I’ll do a review. 🙂
                        My take on SG sweats:

Measurements lined up with Self-edge’s description. Pre-soak the sweatshirt seemed ok overall, but appeared at first to be nothing that special compared to my IHSW-10 (which is very special). Then I warm washed it/hot dried it and…. Totally transformed the sweatshirt into something amazing: Lost lots of length, a lil width, and got much softer and fluffier. Also I have read that arms on the XL can shrink to 24 inches, but I just easily stretched the arms to about 26+ inches. I did notice very slight uneven shrinkage from the sweatshirt getting wrapped up in itself in the mashing machine, but literally just several seconds of stretching took care of that. Basically this is a super pliable material.

Fit: body shrinks to be short, but can be stretched, also the hems and cuffs are snug fitting keeping the sweatshirt in place (not to low/doesn’t come up). I would say the body fits like a medium-large (on my extra large) and the arms are fitted and can shrink/stretch many inches either way in length if needed

                        Details:
Seems are really well done and are about twice as heavy as my IHSW-10 (two strands instead of one) and the seam thread also appear to be shiny (Mercerized?) cotton instead of synthetic (which can also be nice).

As for the finish, the SG sweat is very smooth on the outside as if the cotton is combed before being fed into the loop wheel machine. The inside has many soft loops in it which gives it a unique feel and also seems to give the material great loft.  Also the cotton can’t be emphasized enough, it’s just under 1.5 inches which is noticeably longer than my iron heart sweatshirt’s cotton which is also long staple cotton, so this gives the sweatshirt many additional benefits for comfort and durability.

The hem, collar, and cuffs seem durable are very tightly woven with the hem being circular (a nice touch). Again the stitching is superb with great details such as neck V and flat seeming from the sleeve overextended slightly under the armpit.

Overall this sweatshirt is one of the best garments I own. It has amazing warm, soft and pliable long staple fabric that perfectly molds to the body. Extremely comfortable overdone stitching which should wear long and well. Details are excellent and finish is clean and well executed. Basically this sweatshirt is mindblowingly nice and perfectly complements my growing Iron Heart collection.

Strike Gold has a new white wefted slub denim a la 11xx series coming out, but at a heavier weight. I think it will land at Self Edge soon.

Spring Son of Light–- shame I was just looking at this:

                                      I usually take a 15.5-35+ to 16-35+ in shirts… Sound like a no go?

I concede that I have pretty damn long arms (I'm 6'2). I need the shoulder to cuff measurement to be AT LEAST 25 or 25.5 to look passable. Ideally it would be 26. Almost no Japanese made flannels have those kind of lengths on 40-42 chest sizes. Obviously it also depends on the shoulder width since this affects the overall sleeve length. With an 18.5 inch shoulder measurement I can take a 25.5 in sleeve.

I do agree with tigerpac about the sizing, I can pull an XL off in the crew and hoodie but a little more body length would be nice since they're short. Plus I want to try their tees out but they look so tiny based on the SE website measurements. No way I could fit into an XL!
