Paula had a PICC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peripherally_inserted_central_catheter) installed on Thursday, actually that was a lot more intense than we thought it would be. Yesterday she spent 5 1/2 hours at Chemo Club, now she has gone out to do the shopping whilst I get on with shit around the house…...

Yeah, and the nice thing is that once it's in, you don't have to deal with putting in IVs for the entire remainder of the process, which is great. Glad to hear she took it all in stride and is out and about like a champ.

As most of you know, a couple of weeks ago the refurbished MacBook which Pam and I bought Tommy for Christmas died beyond economical repair. We were both quite upset as we felt we had let Tom down a little by getting him a gift which proved so unreliable, and Tommy was so upset that his computer which he had looked forward to all year was now not working and could not be salvaged.
In an effort to sort the situation for him we tried drastically to sell quite a few items which we would not have considered letting go under normal circumstance. It has been an expensive 12 months for the Trons and ready cash is not quite as ready as it once was so we had to do this.
Out of the blue I was contacted by a forum member with whom my previous interactions had been all too brief, we did not really know each other but nevertheless this member sent me an unbelievable offer of help. Thanks to Mike (Mild7) Tommy now has a new MacBook and his excitement has brought much joy to our family. I cannot thank Mike enough and sincerely hope that he does not mind me posting this as proof positive of what kind of community this is.

I'll let this picture show what it means to my rapidly growing lad.
