I'm having a rather enlightening conversation on facebook with a friend, and the main topics are bellybutton lint, tentacle porn, and beer. What else do you need?

It gets very lonely at sea. Technology like tablets have made long voyages much more tolerable.

Ok, I'm pretty excited about this:

I got an email yesterday looking for Navy cooks to assist (cook for) SEALs in the field. I'm at the top of a waiting list for a 5 day training exercise in March. They're looking for people that are motivated (check), physically fit (check), and able to think on their feet (check).

My imagination is running wild on this one. Here's what I know: They're going to fly me out, provide uniforms, and I'll be able to work on my Expeditionary Warfare Pin (weapons qualification and maintenance, marksmanship, land navigation, field communications, and expeditionary camp deployment) while I'm there.

I don't know if I'll actually be selected, but I feel like I have a pretty good chance. Sounds like a unique opportunity and I had to pounce on it.

Strike Gold's work shirts are beautifully constructed. Nice big buttons, gorgeous felled seams…

One example of a nice detail is the curved back yoke. It's double stitched and felled and it lines up with  a double stitched and felled sleeve seam. There is a second double stitched and felled sleeve seam that matches up to the body's side seam.

What a work of art. Size up if you get one.
