They're the best pile on any anonymous ism sock IMO. Plus, feckin camo dude.

I got some Anonymous Ism socks for Christmas and I'm not impressed. They don't stay up very well and lose their shape fairly quickly.  I'm pretty sure I have a wool blend.  I'll stick with Smartwool and Darn Tough.

Made in Japan doesn't mean it's the best.

I'm with ya Brooks. I thought Smartwool were better, but they aren't quite as good as Darn Tough. I mean, everyone wants to wear what the military is wearing, so get some Darn Tough. It's what the USA military wears (along with Danner or New Balance).

And they're made in New England (VT to be exact).

Smartwool has never worked for me. Always make my feet sweat. Darn Tough I've found is a good balance in the winter and summer. Granted it's not super cold here…

TFA sucks pretty bad when it comes to the "staying up" and the "keeping the shape" performance imo…went with one pair of anonymousism socks to begin with, before recently ordering some more! atm. I have to say I'm super happy with them (comparing them to TFA, they're are worlds apart!)...
can't say something about darn tough or smartwool socks though, since I haven't handled them in person yet. but since I'm here to learn something new every day, so maybe one day I'll share your opinion Mike!
thanks for pointing me into another good direction when it comes to socks buddy...

I still wear my TFA socks but they look and feel kinda miserable… Still they work great with boots... Anyhow: getting some Darn Tough to have a complete US made set of underwear...

Darn Tough, Wigwam, Any Wigwam knockoffs by REI or EMS, Smartwool, and Uniqlo all seem to favor my feet over the anonymous ism socks. Sucks cause I bought like 6 pair too. I think the camo ones are nice and thick though. I feel like the ones I got are more suited towards dress shoes in an office setting. Not for walking around the city in boots.

Also, Darn Tough has a lifetime warranty.

only tried the beige camo ones so far…just had them on for a 2h hike today (along with the viberg 66hikers) and i have to say they are just perfect for long(er) walks. they work great with boots (and maybe even dress shoes), they don't slip, not even a bit...so the camo ones are dope in my book! gonna report back on the others as well.

Anonymous ism uses a bunch of different construction so it's hard to speak of them as a brand really.

For example the American flag themed ones are cotton and not very elastic, and fairly thin. So those won't cling to your calves. But the camo ones are effectively hiking socks and they will. You have to take them model by model, it's not like Smartwool where the only differences are how thick they are and whether the soles are padded.

                                    Think it, be it.

I have 4 different styles and mine all fall. I'm still going to wear them because the designs/colors are cool. If I'm traveling or walking around the city I'll reach for something else though.

I've seen the camo ones at Gentry in Brooklyn and I like them a lot. They seem closer to Wigwam's in construction.

I found out about people socks a bit before christmas and threw a pack on my wishlist. 4 pairs for $26 on Amazon…with a makeup very similar to Smartwools and made in the USA

                                        the ones I got:

                                        http://www.peoplesocks.com/products/below-zero

                                        where I got them:

                                        http://www.amazon.com/4pairs-Heather-Charcoal-Acrylic-Socks/dp/B009CCRK8C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388359354&sr=8-1&keywords=people+socks

Ok, I have been wearing Smartwools for 3 years. When I started doing archaeology in the winter in Ohio...I really needed some warm socks. I got about 7 pairs that christmas, and I have been wearing them ever since. And they all still look brand new, after 3 years of heavy wear. I am a die-hard smartwool junkie.

I pulled the people socks out on xmas day, and broke open the first pair on the 26th. I've been wearing that pair since (hope that doesn't gross anyone out...I haven't been sweating and wool is fairly stable)

In those three days I have noticed a few things. These socks are nice. But not as nice as smartwool.

                                        1. they come up taller on my leg (thats a preference issue)
                                        2. their thickness seems about the same as my thinnest smartwool hiking socks (and the warmness seems about the same)
                                        3. the heel area has got some bits of wool piling up. Honestly, I don't remember if my smartwools did that when I first got them or not, so I can't speak to whether or not thats simply a surface issue or indicative of a deeper durability issue. Only time will tell.

Bottom line: if you want some decent wool socks made in the USA, this is a good deal. You won't get the bentley's of socks, but you'll get a lexus for the price of a honda.

I love showing my sock game off in the office. I'm a little odd, as you'd know. It's a bit like the business card scene in american psycho in the office, but with socks.

Anonymous Ism per MCL's comments I've found different per each pair. There's no one rule about them. 2-3 pairs are doing really well handling daily cycling+office wear, 2-3 other pairs have started losing their elastic. A mile more practical than TFA. I'll be picking up another pair or two of the AI's in my next order, but will be referencing my existing pairs to make a decision that works for my wearing style…
