If you like Lou Donaldson-style boogaloo (even though there's no horn here) this is great stuff.
The recording was made with a bunch of vintage-inspired valve (tube) condenser mics, so it sounds amazing.

Really digging the Butchers of Sky Valley. Hoping they named themselves after Kyuss' Welcome to Sky Valley, which I blared in the gym's PA this morning.

Still putting together my list of albums of the year, but this one is on it. I massacred he bejesus out of the jewel case opening it. My Ohta damn near cut through the whole cover cutting off the cellophane. The second disc was so hard to get out I nearly snapped it in two. I guess I forgot how to CD.

A tip for opening cd's with the cellophane on the spine, which can be a pain to open, just grab the cd like you are opening it as usual and slowly put pressure to open and it will rip open the cellophane. Then you can peel off the plastic easily.
