Anna also becomes only the ninth British member of the 24 Hour Club, for people who have completed successful swims lasting more than a day.

On touching the ladder, Anna swore, and called the experience "horrendous". #RoundIOW

Likely have a few well deserved drinks with her tomorrow…What get's me is the part on the south side of the Island where she is pushed backwards by the tide.  That would break me...

just came home from the business trip to zürich…wasn't aware that such meetings can end pretty fucking awesome 😃
after the official part was over, a bunch of colleagues and i decided to have some drinks. had some nice food, wine and beer. went to a nice club, had some more drinks and today i'm smiling from ear to ear since i got to know a pretty cute girl a bit better...an assistant, working in the companies headquarter in zürich. dear lord 😉

Started doing yoga today after telling myself I was going to for the past who knows how many years… Surprised myself in being able to do a few of the poses I thought would be difficult including headstand and one legged koundinyasna (more than likely misspelled it, sorry)... I'm pretty jazzed and looking forward to implementing this into my morning routine.

After owning both White's Semi-Dress and Viberg Service Boots for several months, I have come to the following conclusions:

-Viberg boots are prettier.  I like the 2030 last and the sleekness of the sole.  White's boots are just chunkier and not as attractive.

-White's boots are more comfortable.  Both pairs of my Viberg boots were initially a bit stiff, but broke in well, but my pair of Semi-Dress were perfect from the start.  It feels good to take off the Vibergs at the end of the day.  The White's still feel wonderful after a full day.

-While the Vibergs seem like they will last a very long time, the White's seem like they will last forever.  I reserve the right to revise this conclusion in a decade or so.

-Dainite soles look cool, but do not have good traction.  Commando soles have slightly better traction than Mini Lug soles.

-At 60% of the price of a pair of Viberg Service Boots, the White's Semi-Dress is a great value.

thanks for sharing your pov matey…looking forward to try my first pair of white's in a month or two. not sure if i should hold back with buying another pair of vibergs in the meantime (brown hh on 2030last) or if i should wait until i can see/feel/wear the difference.
this is some great info though!

One of our friends, Anna, will be attempting to swim around the Isle of Wight (that is 60 miles) tomorrow.

We were at a party yesterday and Anna was there too.  Just over 24 hours after she had completed her 28 hour/60 mile swim.

She was 100% "normal", her powers of recovery are simply amazing….

I love Texan style chili con carne and it's getting to be that season.  Smart to make it the day before, I always make it the day before I serve it, let it sit and self-marinate for a day.

My brother makes chili con quorn sometimes and it's always better the second day… I love this kind of stuff, eventhough I have the poof version of the real deal...

Usually a period of time where a new employee can be let go with no fiscal implications to the employer.  Probably not something that happens a lot in the US as most employees have effectively zero security of tenure….

                                          ^thanks for explaining Giles…

the probation period is 3months, so during that time, the company or the employer can end the contract without any special cause. after passing that time, it isn't that easy anymore...for the company that is!

so happy to be a "real" part of the company now...haven't gotten a raise, but i'll soon be able to parle le francais fluently 😉
