So I'm going to Geers on Monday with my mate (and his one year old son)… My mate asked me to make a list, as he will blindly follow what I choose simply because our tastes are so similar... He's the best guy to go to Geers with - and best guy all around  🙂

          So yeah, thus far:

          3 Fonteinen Armand’4 Oude Geuze Winter/ Herfst/ Lente/ Zomer
          3 Fonteinen Golden Blend
3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze (Armand & Tommy)
3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Golden Blend
          Abbaye des Rocs Grand Cru
          Abbaye des Rocs Speciale Noel
          Abbaye des Rocs Triple Impériale
          Alvinne Kerasus Bourgogne
          Blaugies La Moneuse
          Boon Lambiek Foeder 10
          Boon Vat 44
          Bush de Noel Premium
          Cantillon 50°N 4°E
          Cantillon Blabaer Lambiek
          Cantillon Don Quijote
          Cantillon Mamouche
          Cantillon Soleil de Minuit
          De Dolle Stille Nacht  (reserva)
          La Rulles La Grande 10
          Moriau Kriek
          Oud Beersel Bzart Lambiek
          Oude Geuze Tilquin
          Struise Black Albert
Struise Black Damnation I Black Berry Albert
Struise Black Damnation II Mocha Bomb
          Struise Pannepot
Struise Pannepot Reserva Oak Aged 2009
          Struise Tsjeeses Reserva (Oak Aged)
          Struise XXX Rogge Tripel
          Teppistenbier

And now I gotta look into blond beers as my mate stated he needed some of those... Not really my thing anymore, but will do my best of course!.. This is NOT gonna be a cheap visit I'm afraid  😠

Finally went to a highly recommended beer shop.  It looks like a crappy strip center convenience store, but the selection is really, really good.  So I picked up these, a couple of which I shamelessly copied from Seul's earlier haul:

And you're right, Eli- I this one is excellent.

What is that Reinaert Wild Ale??? Reinaert's made like 5 miles from me... Glad you liked the Duchesse... The reg Rodenbach is nothing too crazy, but the Grand Cru, well: I really like that'un!.. It's weird how they always seem to sell big bottles of this kinda stuff in the States!..

Gonna be looking for that Reinaert tomorrow… Apparently it's sold under a different name here (Flemish Primitive)... It has a wild yeast in it, hence the name... Excellent!.. Massively curious about that'un!..

I'd get some glasses to start... You need a good Trappistenglass (I would recommend Westmalle), a good snifter (Rodenbach Grand Cru), and a Geuze glass (I see the Tilquin glass is cheapest, but the Cantillon one has that great logo so).

There are a lot of beers I didn't add (because of price or other reasons)… Also: if you buy geuzes, remember it's an acquired taste...

I know it's not the proper vessel, I'm still working on my glass stable. But this beer blew me away. It's tart, super crisp, and is really earthy/ grassy at the finish.  Unlike any beer I've ever enjoyed.

Earthy/ grassy - yes Sir!.. As I always say: a good geuze tastes of manure!.. Which doesn't sound attractive, but once you've had a couple of geuzes, there's no turning back...

Btw: I love that glass!.. Sure it's not a geuze glass but that's one hell of a nice snifter!..

It depresses me to see you bring home a haul of beer, including several that are in my fridge right now, and know that it only cost 75€.  Even if I could get all the same ones, (which I can't) it would be double the total.

My local breweries need to step up their sour offerings.  I think I'll go tell all of them to revamp their product line to fit my preferences.  I'm sure they'll get right on it.
