I'm not really sure I even understand the wording of your question

what is 21/23oz and why are the 1955's called RAW, ie shrink to fit?  Or, what is the difference between the current 1955 denim and this new run?

The 21/23 oz denim is a classic IH fabric and was limited to the 5th anniversary model 634SR and then reused in the 634 S-Raw. Raw, meaning shrink to fit. There even was a contest. I'm a bit shocked now, looking at your registration date.

Yes, 23 oz is the postwash weight. And it produces some of the best looking jeans I've ever seen.
