Weird, I was under the impression that the S5000 cut was a touch slimmer than the 634 cut for some reason. Did you wash them or just soak them? Are they slubby at all?
I sized up to 36 and I'm usually a 34, so that may be the reason.
I havent washed them yet
They are wonderfully slubby -
Fading pattern on the 710 is different. Less slubby, more contrast and a grey sheen. TBH, I never was too fond of the 0500 in terms of fading. But the cut and slubby denim is great.
That's my 710:
and my 500, same denim.

The 0500 has a great texture and interesting concept. Still it doesn't fade that dramatically like the 19oz denim.
But if you want to see the range the 0500XX can fade, take a look here:http://supertalk.superfuture.com/index.php/topic/39076-samurai-contest-winner-poll/

agree w/Max & b_F on contrast fading. there are other denim types for that.
however, the 500s remain as the [ultimate] Texas cotton experience for me.mine was a LOT 9, acquired waaay back when not a lot of peeps know what "slubby" was.
the cut, indigo hue, & slub experience was like sex, for the very 1st time. -
Is there a way to tighten the button and its backing part on a samursi's fly buttons…. One of mine is not attached very well and think if I can get a little piece of steel down in the hole on the buttons front and hit the two securing pins they will bend down further and MAke this a bit more secure and together as a piece. This one button is annoying the shit out if me and keeps coming undone cause its soooo loose

I'd hit it with a rubber mallet but I ain't a genius

Samurai 5000ai-10sp
mine was TTS @W33. i did have a problem early on about the fabric being in constant/perpetual flux. normally, denim stabilizes quite a bit after a 2nd soak, but denim on these kept yoyo-ing between shrink/stretch well beyond the 2nd soak.
stretching the waist back out was such a pain [literally] due to the stiffness & ruggedness of the denim. also, i learned about a couple of owners who complained about fabric tears & thread breakage, so i thought i'd do periodic soaks to temper & stabilize the fabric … 'stuck a wooden hanger @waistband every time.
anyway, here's mine after @4yrs = 18mos+ effective wear. these [true blues] are like the "True Blood" of the denim world … they just won't get old, nor fade away.

George, they look fantastic. Could I be a pain and ask for a close up shot of the denim please?
I tried, but fail to do better than they did on BiG's site! Their pics are very accurate:
denim is the same as that of S0110XJ, that have a more relaxed fit and identical rise.
I like the details: outer seams as in the reference pattern, the Japanese lantern label (which resembles the bell of the brand "Blue Bell"), stealth arcs, hickory stripes pocket bags and rear pockets linings, chambray lining as shown in the first pic from above.
Being halfway between straight and slim, you call them the Samurai version of Buster RAW. In some ways.
I would sure love to see some evo pics of these. I'm gonna send you a PM… I have similar ones except the denim is lighter. I might snag these up on Ratuken. Depending on how they look when they fade. I love how these have felled outside seams.

^I wasn't sure what it would be called. Thank you for setting me straight.
