I would seriously like to knock you out with my hip-ness and generally cool accoutrements, but this is it I am afraid:

Giles is that 3 different sources of fire on your person? That's some serious redundancy. That used to drive me insane when I was smoking. Either I had too many or not enough.

Thanks, I like it. It's been perfect for my rough and tumble times as well. Smacked it pretty hard into a few things and it's still flawless. The lumes are perfect, and it works wonderfully in the office. I like 🙂

Snowy, how do you find the Pulse? I'm toying with getting a fitness tracker of some description, and that one looks interesting.

I find it accurate, simple to use, light/small, decent looking, and well priced. Single charge lasts about 1.5 weeks too, so it's pretty solid. It's integration with the Withings Scales for a single interface/portal is really nice.

The only thing that's a little fiddly is the heart rate monitor, but it works properly once you know how to use it.

Am slowly working out my sleeping patterns as a result too, which is awesome. Would recommend.

Thanks Snowy. I've got my eyes on one of those, but also considering the Bodymedia Core 2 if it's going to be released anytime soon.

Right on both counts! I'm pretty sure there's a guy on USN that makes them, in all sorts of metals and carbon fiber, but they're hard to come by.

Probably a failure of imagination on my part, but struggling to figure how a carbon fiber ring really helps you. Knuckles fucking hurt if you know how to use them, and striking with the knuckle instead of the finger makes more sense to me.

Good call on the Kimber Doug.

The fat side of the knuckle duster goes towards your palm and supports the ring and your finger. You get all the force of the punch concentrated into just the knuckle duster

One needs to adjust the way they punch to effectively use this thing

It doesn't seem deep enough. I get the benefit of gripping something in your fist, even a roll of coins, and why a traditional knuckle duster works, but it has a way deeper grip than this little ring shrug. Still wonder if going off axis from the perfect line from your forearm bones to your knuckles is worth it as well.
