Not sure how to say this without sound like an utter knob, so here goes it; Funnily enough, no. I get weekly deliveries to my door and have 'better' beans than they roast there.

What a week. The insanity kept up, but was back to normal hours today. Will be back on track for the foreseeable future, with the fruits of my labour soon reaping rewards.

The plan for today was a bit of a late start, then 1/2 a day of 1:1 with the team, then an afternoon of meetings. What ended up happening was…

at ~20km/hr going up hill. Bike totally locked up, wheels locked, chain locked, peddles locked. Bike tipped fully onto the front wheel where I end up hovering over the front of the handle bars. Thanks to the angle of the hill and more than my fair share of luck, not only did I get the back wheel to the ground, I also managed to unclip my feet and land without falling.

Tomorrow I'll be going for something I won't snap clean in half.

Probably a month or so ago I got a craving to use Dr Bronner's Soap, I couldn't find any locally, so purchased online. I used to use it in SF, it smells nice, not sure how I forgot, nor why I remembered, but glad to have.

And who couldn't do with a few cats/noodles/kittens to finish this post off with. Amy's the larger of the 2 cats here. Soba's wrapped around her…

Totally uncropped today, but was digging the straight out the camera vibe and framing. You can click for a closer view….

Local Bike Store quoted $1000AUD ($920US?) to fix the bike up. There goes most of my play money for the next while. Added I'll be on the train for the next few days. Be happy if I'm back on the bike at some stage this week. We'll see.

For those of you who see my WAYWT updates, you'll occasionally see me by the water. I grew up down south in an area called The Sutherland Shire, known as The Shire for short, and ever since Lord of The Rings, it's been a constant running joke. Anyhow, there's beaches there and the area very much has a beach culture, even in the tail end of winter. Up until I moved to SF a few years ago I was a Lifesaver @ Cronulla Beach for 13 years of service.

I head down that way around once a month to catch up with friends and family. A mate of mine owns a cafe right by the water, which I visited for lunch. Today you join me in the journey from the car to the cafe and down in the cafe.

(The sun hid itself for most of these photos but was out in good force on either side, works for me ::) ).

                          The path south

I took quite a few building shots to show the diversity of the buildings on the same street. Most of them are pretty gory if you ask me

a well worn path to the beach, The Wall

Looking to Cronulla Beach. The Sandy building "was" my surf club HQ

                          More out of place building

The most recent evolution of buildings, finishing/externally as just cement

                          Water police cruise by.

North Cronulla Beach, and "the alley"

My Lunch, Shout outs to Finn

A mate and the brother of the owner

A mate and the cafe owner / visionary (he had a good laugh when I explained the world tour)

I had an enjoyable 3 or so hours catching up with the boys, a wonderful Saturday afternoon…

It'd likely cost me 3-4k. I paid 2k for my bike 2.5 years or so ago, and want to ensure more than 2 years of service before this happens again, so got the next level of parts up. It is basically a new bike I'm getting, the only thing not changing is the frame, literally.

Trust the food tastes better (still) than it looks, no offense I hope, but it's a little too organic for my "eye taste". And I wonder about the brewing methods…for coffee or tea? Siphon??? Molecular cuisine taken to the making of beverages? Probably just my ignorance, and since I know you're the most gracious (and patient/tolerant) person around here, I trust you'll enlighten me a little.

It tasted really good. It was all organic, and as a vege fresh organic food tastes amazing. It was farm-eggs with pesto + broccoli + kale flower + feta + secret sauces + on-premise made sourdough.

The brewing methods are all for coffee. Siphon coffee is massive in parts of Japan, which is where the method comes from. Check out the below video, I'm sure you'll enjoy

                                Hope you enjoy.

Once again, very many thanks, Snowy. After having watched it, I feel I wasn't so very far off with my suspicion of molecular cooking, it does look like coffee in a chemistry lab, sure a fascinating procedure to watch, whether it makes a huge difference tastewise to coffee made in those glass "bistro" pots, where the ground coffee is pushed to the bottom after brewing, I still wonder…  Also how long it will take before this extravaganza will arrive in the trendier coffee houses here in Germany. My bet: next year at the latest.

You're such a wonderful person, Snowy, I have this recurring urge to hug you. Luckily (maybe) you are in very safe distance!

501, it makes a huge difference to taste. The same coffee ground correctly for the brew method, and then brewed in 4-5 different brew methods will taste quite different. Some notes will be the same, but they accentuate different characteristics. I'd be very surprised if there's not at least a few places doing siphon in Germany. I've got mates who used to drink Chemex filter coffee in Berlin last year, so imagine it is about. Maybe one for you to investigate when you've got a few hours free at some point :).

Mrs Snowy and I got out of the major populated areas this morning and took it nice and slow by the water. The weather was/is still nice, so we both dressed a little nice for our walk. Afterwards a quick swing by the city on the way home for lunch, and now off to the pool.

Glad I wasn't sitting on this boat, it's flooded. Mind you, it'd of been more stable (my boat rocked!)
