One wash will make no difference to how it fades….On the basis that it should be soaked/washed before wear anyway...

As far as jackets go, no need to rinse or ever wash. I'd like it raw, one washed takes the fun out, just tell people no returns on raw items

The IH-526BJ was raw and did not sell, given that the denim is fantastic, I'm convinced that the main reason it did not sell is that people are more concerned about how a jacket shrinks than how a pair of jeans shrink.  I thought much like you, that people would love the fun of raw, I was wrong and I would be stupid to make the same mistake again. Not allowing returns kills sales.

And your comment about no need to soak or wash, is your opinion and one that which Haraki and I do not agree with.

Why not just do both, raw and one washed? Gives the raw guys certanty about the final measurements and the faint at heart can buy onewash right away?

Because guessing what number to get when there is one variation is difficult enough, when you double the options it gets harder still.  Plus we have to have more stock, which takes up space and requires greater investment etc etc etc

i just always wished one of IH's denim jackets would come with a beige corduroy collar. just a badass detail imo!

It only fit size large and under due to sizing issues, iirc.

Perhaps the jacket is expensive but I hardly feel that ANY of us can ever say something is overpriced because not a single person I have ever saw making this proclamation has ever had the total overhead figures available to understand how a product must be priced in order for the manufacturer AND retailer to still come out on top and not be in the red. Sorry nerk its not a statement just directed at what you just posted but in the last few month I've seen the word overpriced thrown around in a rather haphazard manner that bothers me. It may be because for the last 12 years I've supported myself by my art (not the computer variety but art thats still done in the old fashioned done-by-hand style) and understand just how much work is put into things that people seldom realize.  Just an observation.

too bad they didn't make a size bigger for you urbanwoodsman. i'm sure would appreciate the sexih18.

classic does not always = ultimate.

It's not unusual for a retailer to have a 50% gross margin. IH, SE, and their suppliers all have make money on the deal. That's just business; I can't tell if they are making "unfair" margins or not, but again, 50% is not considered unusual and it's their right to charge what they think their product is worth, and our right to walk away if that's too high. To know if you were being gouged (I define that as a retailer gross margin over 50%) you'd have to have full view of the value network supplying the product, or at least knowledge of the cost of goods sold to the retailer. Or the price could just be so totally out of whack that you could safely assume a gouge.

So to me the final jacket is too expensive, but not necessarily overpriced.

                                            Think it, be it.
