Thanks Mahlon, Just to give you the rest of the deatils, CAAD8 105 (group set). Might get some side-on photos this week. It got a serious soaking in the rain the other night, need to treat the saddle again…so part of the tour 🙂

Today I headed town to Enmore/Newtown. These suburbs are known for being left-leaning, green-focused, tinges of anarchy politically active communities. I spent a lot of time around the place in my youth, and in my early 20's had my second resurgence for the area. Over the past 15 or so years the main strip become pretty alternative-commercial, but if you head back 2-3 streets some of the diversity comes back.

In my mid/late 20's I started come around these back streets when I was getting active with street-art/stenciling.  I managed to get published in a few magazines over the years, the top right piece is mine

So I went back down around the area today to see how it's changed…

By a guy called Junky, for obvious reasons. This was done around the time I was 'active', so is quite old now.

Will Cole, guy is quite aggressive about concreting objects into places.

        Also Will Cole

Looks like a NYC MTA train to me

Scotty probably has info on this one

Sydney modern architecture. Not very pleasing in my eye, and not a very good mix of old and new, which is what it's trying to represent (an old flour mill)

REALLY nice and warm out today (~24c), was tempted to get my summer clothing out of storage. Happy days. Now back to chilling, cleaning, and preparing.

Pretty funky stuff….our WT host a published stencil/street-artist, and the distressed WT jeans looking ever more appropriate in the context. Pics make me want to visit....

Slowly starting to study for my next exam in a month or two's time. I like getting out of the house to study when I can. Nice parks, fresh air, green, no internet - a place to focus.

So that's where I spent the middle of my day, at a park.

It's also a great place to watch planes takeoff/land. No telephoto lens on, you get the idea. Qantas plane, national airline.

A close up in the lake. Yup, that's a bloody big eel!

shaky-cam brings you moving pictures of an Australian Native - Wattle

…now it's off to the pool for another Sunday swim.

Words to the wise, I'm sure earned the hard way. I forget this insight, time and again and all too easily myself, when impatience and annoyance get the better of me.

Nice pics Snowy. Like the Wattle it is just like the Witch Hazel. That blooms yellow in the winter also in north eastern USA.

Interesting twin. I don't like the smell of Witch Hazel, but love wattle. I wonder if it's a minor genetic trait that has changed the smell. Wattle is the smell of summer for me. I started smelling in nearly a month ago. Amazes me how plants get the seasons right.

Today I took it a little easier, it was needed. Ensured I took time out of the day to go for lunch. Mrs Snowy was @ home today also, so we had a nice lunch down the road. It was warm enough for TW-1303 by itself. This is going to be a hot summer.

What a week. The insanity kept up, but was back to normal hours today. Will be back on track for the foreseeable future, with the fruits of my labour soon reaping rewards.

The plan for today was a bit of a late start, then 1/2 a day of 1:1 with the team, then an afternoon of meetings. What ended up happening was…

at ~20km/hr going up hill. Bike totally locked up, wheels locked, chain locked, peddles locked. Bike tipped fully onto the front wheel where I end up hovering over the front of the handle bars. Thanks to the angle of the hill and more than my fair share of luck, not only did I get the back wheel to the ground, I also managed to unclip my feet and land without falling.

Tomorrow I'll be going for something I won't snap clean in half.

Probably a month or so ago I got a craving to use Dr Bronner's Soap, I couldn't find any locally, so purchased online. I used to use it in SF, it smells nice, not sure how I forgot, nor why I remembered, but glad to have.

And who couldn't do with a few cats/noodles/kittens to finish this post off with. Amy's the larger of the 2 cats here. Soba's wrapped around her…

Local Bike Store quoted $1000AUD ($920US?) to fix the bike up. There goes most of my play money for the next while. Added I'll be on the train for the next few days. Be happy if I'm back on the bike at some stage this week. We'll see.
