    @tatmantall:

    Dunno my 666 xhs didn't do it…

Seems to me that it's probably more a function of fit than denim, unless the denim is so stiff still that it doesn't lie properly. I wear mine the same way that you do TMT because of the same issue. I'm about 6'2 and if I pull mine all the way up to where they are probably designed to fit then they look like they are eating me alive. When I let them slouch I like the fit better but there is extra fabric under the pockets which may be what is causing the pocket whiskers. I have been wearing mine a lot more since we have been having mild weather and mine are starting to develop the same fades but only time will tell how bad they will get.

Have you guys tried a hot wash or two? I've seen a few people on here who say they've gotten noticeable shrinkage on the 25oz denim with a hot wash.  Which might explain why these have a slightly higher rise than their 21oz counterparts, to accommodate for expected shrinkage. My 23oz shrunk enough to notice, and they're sanforized as well.

I've been doing hot soaks every week or two and I notice a shrink but they stretch back out.

As far as the rise and fades I don't know, I wear mine lower than I like due to it but I get weird fades from he leg straps at work so I'm not sure what is what.

I swear someone successfully lowered the rise on these an inch. Try the denim doctor in the UK, I think he did flinns alterations quite successfully.  I was thinking about it but I'm too deep in now.

I remember that alteration  fanya, I think it wasdenim doctor can't remember if UK or US though either way though I'm kinda in the same boat with being to deep in… Weird underbutt fading going on that would look even more awkward if straightened out now. Perhaps ill be reinspired to put them back on later on down the road.

Somebody had successfully lowered the rise but ended up affecting the pocket-size I believe.

MikeC mentioned Railcar in California lowered the rise on some MBBs.

                Think it, be it.

I was actually at Railcar when those jeans jeans were being worked on.  I was dropping off a pair to be hemmed and saw the MBB being deconstructed so the rise could be lowered.  They were also going to alter the taper on another pair of 25oz IH.

That would be me!!! I got a full inch lower front rise.  My pockets are somewhat tight. I usually don't use the front pockets for anything but a small wallet. I felt it was a fair trade off.

16ish or so weeks of everyday wear. They are really softening up nicely. One soak and one machine wash. 25oz is where it's at!  😘

                                    thanks 🙂

once you just accept the absurdly high rise and weird way they sit  and the fades go where they want, things go easier ;p

also I've been back in the gym for 4 weeks now or so and they are tightening up slightly which is nice.

qft…and actually i'm wearing mine for the first day since that rain soak a few weeks ago.
might need to give them their first real wash soon

had my pair tapered from the knee down to a little over a 8" hem. I couldn't handle the flaring anymore.
                                        Much happier with the fit
