I'm headed to San Francisco with my girlfriend next month, can anybody recommend some highlights we should check out?  We're staying in Portrero Hills for the first three nights and then planning on spending our final night in either Napa or Sonoma Valley.  Any recommendations on wineries or breweries would be most appreciated as well!

Wish I had seen your message sooner Clint. Id have had great recs for you.

I like Howell Mountain at Napa for wineries. Ladera, Neal Family, and Cade are a few worth investigating on that hill. Elizabeth Spencer is nice in the valley.

For beer I like Sonoma. Moylans, Lagunitas, Russian River, and Bear Creek are all stupendous. In the city, El Dorado is a great beer bar on Haight.

For a nice romantic off the beaten path seafood dinner adventure go up to Nick's Cove and Cottages on Tomales Bay. Great seafood, particularly the oysters they pull right out of Tomales.

                Think it, be it.

I quite enjoyed The Mosser when last in town late last year. Really close to BART, in downtown, close to metron. Think it was about 2 minutes walk 2 BART, 2 minutes on BART, 5 minutes to Self Edge 🙂

I'd suggest staying in the mission, but ain't no good hotels there, Tropicano is so sketchy it's not even funny. Love the mission tho 🙂

I usually stay at the Intercontinental to. It's not cheap, but good location.

Castro is @ the top of the hill in the video (that's 22nd street hill). Was very difficult not stopping in SelfEdge every few day. Did a few big shops a year..

I had a tremendous meal at Fleur de Lys last time I was in town.  Awesome experience, even had a sommelier that I didn't have to bitch-slap or tell to shut up (?!)  We wound up with a killer bottle that complemented the meal quite well.

I have always loved Slanted Door too.

                                            Hi everyone,

I am flying out to San Francisco and then Las Vegas in a few days and figured there must be some shops worth visiting. I also figured someone on here would know the area.

I don't have anything in particular in mind, and shopping is far from a priority on the trip, but it doesn't hurt to look.

                                            Does anyone have any recommendations?

                                            Thanks in advance,

                                            Matt
