Really great questioning :). Giles I'm not sure if you've been following Kyle@TFH's updates on their processes, I think you've covered it off pretty well (and gone further 😉 ), but not a bad comparison. #exciting.

is one of my favourite videos online of all time. If I still smoked weed I imagine I'd blaze away to this once a week or something.. Honest Key Factor 1080p minimum. Don't skimp on quality. As time/technology moves forwards any lower is going to look quickly outdated…

I would like to congratulate and thank the cinematographer for Man of Steel for almost single-handedly ruining a movie with camerawork alone. I didn't think it was possible but there you have it. The latest mutation of cinema verite, where you as a cameraman must pretend you have palsy when you zoom, focus, or move the viewframe.

              Think it, be it.

Didn't bother me at all, but I know loads of folks who hated Cloverfield and thought the camera work was awful whereas I thought it was genius.

I guess it's not everyones cup of tea, but it's a style I quite like.

Turns out it's the guy from Fast and Furious, a Transformers movie, and the forthcoming Wolverine flick (damn):

While Snyder worked with cinematographer Larry Fong on both 300 and Sucker Punch, the cinematographer for Man of Steel is Amir Mokri whose previous works include Fast & Furious, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and  The Wolverine, which is scheduled to be released in July 2013. That shift in talent shouldn’t change Snyder’s individual convictions though, and we can expect something extremely stylised, even if it resists the temptation to go full comic book.

Got my first real soaking in the rain riding my bike home tonight. 10c out, can't imagine how cold the rain was, and ended up with puddles in my shoes with no feeling in either my feet or hands by the time I was home. I enjoyed it tho. So at least partial rant? 🙂

Was taking out the garbage this morning to find a two foot long black snake wrapped around my gutter

Call the police (standard procedure in NYC). They tell me to call the Department of Natural Resources. The DNR tells me to call a private contractor to have it removed…I'm like "don't I pay taxes for this?"

Call animal control, and was informed that 1) there are poisonous snakes in Maryland, and this could be one 2) they do not remove the animals and 3) I cannot harm the snake as they are protected by Federal law

Wondering if there is any level of common sense in this state

The contractor eventually called me back and told me that the snake I described is not poisonous, but I'm still annoyed. She did tell me that I'm allowed to open fire on it if I feel like my safety is at risk, there is a provision within the law for that

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose
